Instead of a walkthrough, Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said today’s workout at Valley Ranch will involve “more of a training camp mode” in the wake of Monday’s 34-18 loss to the Chicago Bears. It will be the Cowboys’ only workout of the week before players take a four-day break and return to work Monday to begin preparations for the team’s next game, Oct. 14 at Baltimore.
Garrett said he reviewed videotapes with players this morning and the team will work today “in helmets and shells … Cowboys vs. Cowboys in the practice, more of a training camp mode” before taking time off for their bye week. Garrett said he stressed the importance of responsible, off-field behavior to players during their break.

This is a positive and nice to hear but Garrett needs to spend some time evaluating himself. Monday night was all on him. He needs to sit down and watch games when teams come back from behind. He panicked way too early Monday night.

There's enough blame to go around, I don't think you pin this ALL on Garrett!

I do. I put all of this past loss on him. And it's something I won't even debate.

I guess giving the team a week off, (save for one practice), is the remedy to fix this team!

They are required to be off thanks to the new CBA.

I hate coconut and it is something I won't even debate!
Seriously, why post it if you won't debate it? Are you omniscient and we can't disagree? Not that I do or don't, it is just that I might want to disagree.

dont talk the talk jason, walk the walk
coach your team so they are ready
demand discipline and back it up with accountability
in the past i would have said "great" "Garrett gets it"
but
walking in place and spinning your wheels is not "progress'", moving forward is
"fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice..."

Did I say I was omniscient? Did I say you can't disagree?
I stated my position and made it clear that it's not even something worth discussing with me because I'm not budging. I'm not going to go back and forth. I've made up my mind and that's that. If you disagree then disagree. I'm just not going to defend myself. I feel sorry for you that I had to dumb this down for you so you'd understand that. I'm sorry your feelings were hurt by something I said that wasn't even addressed to you. I'm sorry you're incapable of feeling confident in something you believe and because you can't you take your insecurities out on me.

These guys should really be looking in the mirror right now

Thats what i was thinking - in addition, the arguement that you have an extra week to prepare for the team you face after a bye is not really valid

The only good thing about the bye week is to let guys heal up, which is perfect timing this season.
I don't like the fact players only get one day extra of practice, but it is what it is. The coaches can stay and game-plan, but I am not sure if that is a good or bad thing yet.
Callahan and the OLine needs to meet up in a private location and get this thing somewhat functional. All of this while getting written consents from the players of course :)
