The Dallas Cowboys are doomed to spend their bye week with an awful taste in their collective mouth, the result of an ugly 34-18 Monday Night drubbing at the hands of the Chicago Bears, but according to owner and general manager Jerry Jones, the team isn’t down in the dumps as a result of that loss, or that 2-2 record.

“We thought we would play better in the last three ballgames, (http://www.dallasnews.com/sports/dallas-cowboys/headlines/20121005-jerry-jones-cowboys-not-meeting-expectations-but-we-haven-t-lost-ground.ece)” Jones told 105.3 FM The Fan on Friday, per the Dallas Morning News. “Certainly in Seattle, we were not above expectations. But we met expectations and were elated with our first game. But we didn’t play as well against Seattle, a good team, hard team to beat out there. And certainly didn’t have the game we wanted to have out here against Tampa, but we won it. And then we laid an egg here against the Bears.

That makes one of us.

My thoughts exactly.

JJ is an eternal optimist and I think that gets in the way significantly.

yep, which is why you want to have an owner, who is generally a cheerleader, NOT be your GM, who makes the talent evaulation final decisions. Your vision does get fuzzy and your like for certain players is a hinderance.

so I guess he says we should be 1-3 then......and "not in anyway dismayed"?...ok.

The great debate (in MY head anyway).....

Is Jerry truly delusional or is he in constant sell-the-product mode?

Probably, much like the answer to many things, a little of both.

It'll get even better in about a decade when we can add senile as a third possibility.

Go get em Jerry....YOUR way. Let us know how that works out for you.

Unfortunately, you won't have to let us know as we are all forced to watch this with our own eyes.

What gives me hope (and makes me stick around) is that I was a Cowboys fan long before you showed up, and it's a safe bet I'm going to outlive you.

Jerry is a SALESMAN. What do you think he's going to say? He wants to sell tickets! He knows deep down that he messed up BIG time with the OL.
