In May, Jerry Jones said Jason Garrett didn’t have the same luxury as others who landed their first head coaching job at the small college level.

With that in mind, during that organized team activity practice about four months ago at Cowboys Stadium, Jones said Garrett had “the right stuff to effectively learn as he goes and at the same time, coach at a level that can get us where we want to go next year.”

With that 31-29 loss to the Ravens freshly in Jones’ mind, his view of learning on the job has seemingly changed.

“We shouldn’t be learning on our dime. We should have it down, frankly,” Jones said Tuesday on 105.3 The Fan [KRLD-FM]. “We’ve got too much at stake to be having any teaching sessions.

“And that’s not the way Jason looks at it. That’s not the way I look at it. Relatively speaking, Jason is very thought-out and has well-rehearsed when he’s on that sideline. I can assure you of that. We just have had some things that in hindsight, because we didn’t make it, we could have done differently.

Jerry does not make a lick of sense when he speaks.

It's even more confusing to read what he says, than to hear it. I can't understand any of the quotes in that article.

Its easy. He shouldn't be learning, but he is learning, but he doesn't look at it like he is learning, so he's not just learning. Now every coach has learned, and certainly Jason will learn, but we don't say he's learning, so he's not learning. He's very qualified to learn, and I have every confidence he will learn, but he doesn't need to learn, so he will.

Got it?

I've never seen anyone who manages to contradict himself on such a frequent and continual basis as Jerry does. It's like he's trying to cover up for his vocal gaffs by saying just the opposite in his next sentence. I guess that's just what you get when someone puts his mouth into motion before his brain is engaged.

I have the same trouble figuring out Jerry.

He should have been a politician. He's perfect for that.

I am just in awe of the fact that you were not only able to make out what that jumbled mess JJ said, but precisely nail it! :lmao2:

Honest question is he drunk everytime he talks to media? Or is old age catching up with him cause the last couple years he makes less sense everytime he talks.

Overplannig is a bad thing when you're outhinking yourself, and talking on too much on game-day doing double dudty as head coach and play caller.

I wish Garret was a bit less rehersed and a bit more instinctive. I'm starting to wonder if his need to be overly rehersed is done to overcompenate for his lack of instinct.

If so this expalins whay he's overly predictive, making it easier on oppsing coaches to out-manage him on game-day.
