6 kids from my HS just got suspended for 5 days because they said "Said teacher >>>>> #m..." on Twitter. You can fill in the rest. So, another 5 kids just tweeted "Let's blow up the school!"
I don't understand what makes people my age think to post these things..

I think id get in trouble if I did. But its bad. I forgot to put on op, is this legal for the school to punish the kids for something they said outside of school?

Most likely it is not but I'm not a legal expert.

Yes, they can suspend a kid for something he/she does outside of school if it will affect or disrupt something that happens in school.
If you go on the internet and call a teacher a **** and other students see it, it can become a distraction/disruption in that teachers class.
Especially in a world where both male and female teacher have been known to have sexual relationships with their students from time to time.
It's similar to why you can't go on the internet and call a fellow student a homosexual or some other such nonsense - it can (and often does) lead to in-school interactions/bullying/namecalling/etc.
Not that I don't think generations have degraded, but I don't think this is as out of whack as it seems.
People have been talking **** since time out of mind, only then not everybody was able to 'hear' it. Now with every utterance splashed on social media it's got everyone chasing demons constantly.

Not so sure about that.
Im 100 percent sure about that.
If someone writes on their FB that they are going to blow up their school tomorrow, not only can the school do something about it.. so can the police.

Well, the blowing up the school point I can understand. The part where the students were calling teacher synonym for "hot" I don't.

That is a crime whether you are a student or not. I thought we were talking about an entirely different matter.

Im still not sure what you said in the OP, but if its something that infers illegal interaction between teacher and student.. im pretty sure not only can the school dish out punishment, but again.. the police can get involved as well.
