Wih the talk of Parcells possibly being interested in moving up in tomorrow's draft to make sure he gets his 2 impact defensive players, just how would he get that done? I don't think he wants to lose 2nd round pick just to move up a few spots. We don't have a 3rd. Does anyone think he would be desperate enough to trade the 2006 1st rounder to move up in the 1st this year and maybe get a 4th???? Does he have any history trading future high picks? I know Jones would do it, but I'm not sure about Parcells....

Geez Louise, I hope not. Let Mike Williams fall to us at 11 or take the best DE available or maybe slide down a few spots and get our third back. But for God Sake don't blow next years draft to move up a few spots. We are not the Redskins!!!!! :skins:

I doubt we move up where we would need to use anything higher then our 4th...I bet they'd be reluctant to do that for this year...possible he may us a 2nd or 3rd for next year if there was the one player they feel we MUST have...

Another way is to include players to move up in combination of pic...for example I've been playing with Glover and our #42 to move into the mid 1st round...don't like it...love Glover, but it could be an option...

I think Pete Hunter, Morgan and Singleton could all be used in conjunction with a pick to move and target a particular player.

I'm with you. I just got a bad feeling that they've got their hearts set on getting any 2 of Ware, Merriman and Spears. I don't see how that gets done at 11 and 20.

If we land Merriman and Spears and have to give a 5th and a 6th...and Hunter in the process...would it be worth it?

Me...that's an easy YES!

I think you're right but I would not see the problem with this:

One of Ware/ Merriman or Spears and

One of Mike Williams/ Mark Clayton/ Roddy White

And then One of Blackstock/ Poole or Shazor

I read somewhere today we may use our third next year and the 11 this year to move up a few spots. But right now anything is possible and nothing is expected...

to use a third next year would translate to our second pick next year in a draft expected to be much stronger than this one....um no thanks

although it wouldn't surprise me if BP trades away a pick from next year in efforts to get the guys he wants now and make a run.

If we're bent on taking a DE and Ware, Merriman, and Spears are our top 3, we won't have any problems getting one of them at 11 or even a trade back a few spots...

Too much smoke blowing now from all the teams to say any trades are possible or not. But there are only so many worth it to me. Braylon Johnson would be worth both firsts but that is slim odds with Jerry IMO. Mike or Merriman one should be available at 11. 20 is the funny pick for trading and then it will come down to who does Bill find an irresistable pick and where does Dallas have him ranked. This is where Wulf excells. I get excited myself. Wulfman has that value ranking down so I can see him cooly working the trades to get where we need to be. Or maybe that is what he will be doing. If not he should be unless it is for the hated Skins, 9ers or Steelers. (%

Look at the draft pick value charts, they come in handy when trying to speculate this stuff.

Moving up to 17 from 20 takes 100 points. Our 4th round draft pick worth 76. So you'd probably have to throw in another late round pick, depending on how desperate a team is to move down. Moving down 10 spots in the 2nd round from 42 to 52 is roughly 100 points, as well. So its not like its impossible to get picks back, especially when you're drafting high in the 2nd round.

A possible scnerio is that we could move up to the Vikings pick at #18, and swap 2nd rounders with them (#42 and #49) and it would pretty much break even. Especially if we don't see anyone of value who will likely be there at #42 for a position we have our eye on (free safety)

Conjecture of giving up our 2nd rounder in any scnerio is ridiculous unless you're projecting a major, major move where we're moving into the Top 5 from #11, or the Top 10 from #20 .

How can you "predict" how a draft class will look? you may have a clue as to players that may enter the draft but have no clue how they will play next season or if they stay healthy. You can't pick based on what may or may not be there next year you have to go with what you have in front of you. If we can get a combo of Merriman spears ware or Pollack in the first round by trading the 20 and a third next year and using the 11 then I say do it. its not a lot to pay and who knows who would be available when our pick comes up in the third next year.

I prefer Spears and Ware but thats me.

and all this trade talk and speculation is what makes this great.

Who knows maybe we get Merriman at 11 and trade a player and 20 to move up to get Spears and seal our change to the 34 remember anything is possible with BP and JJ.

If you ask what player I'd say Glover if we are switching to the 34
