Thanks for posting it. Also, thanks for what you do each week with the game footage.
I actually found the show to be a little lacking.

That was a great show. Kinda sad to see Michael and Troy both pissed off and saying the team wasnt the same and that they wanted five rings. Certainly could have happened for them. Jimmy wouldnt have let them get soft in the 94 game and 96 might have been possible as the twilight run.

He was about as intense a coach as you could possibly be.

It's pretty good too. Some good Dallas Cowboys stuff in it.

I have to say I miss these days and miss that team. I remember being in shock when the split happened and wondered why this had to happen to such a special team. Anyway...some real great footage in that video..the biggest for me; which I didn't know was learning of the relationship between Jimmy and Belicheck..explains alot about why that freaking Patriot squad has been so successful. Bill is alot like Jimmy and it was neat to see that people go to the Godfather for advice...Jimmy was a special guy and it is ashame Jerry took that away from that team and the teams fans. The other thing I took away from that was forgetting what it took to get there for Jimmy..seeing Red with Jimmy also brings some calm to this season. Hey don't get me wrong I bleed silver n blue and this season just stinks but I have to believe some of what Jimmy did has rubbed off on Red and Red realizes how and why Jimmy was a winner...I'm not happy with this season but seeing Red and Jimmy together and realizing this is only his second season and remembering it took Jimmy more than two years...I'm willing to wait for just a while longer while Red gets the team HE wants on the field. I know Jimmy had crap to start with and Red was given a BMW but how much of that BMW was in need of repairs??

The reality bottom lined..the Cowboys played championship football when Jimmy was here.
The Cowboys haven't come close since he's been gone.
Wish he was still here. I wish I could have seen those teams.

You know something, you'd think Jason would of learned something about coaching by being around Jimmy all that time.

Jimmy also said as HC he HAD to be the Bad Guy or the team would go soft and not play up to it's potential. Does anybody see Jason ever being the Bad Guy? I sure don't.
No matter how many years Jason gets as HC he can't get the most out of this team because he lacks the emotion and the hard-edge grit needed to do so.
He can get as many RKG as he can and he'll still fall short (though I admit I do approve of trying to stock the team with RKG even if/when they have slightly less talent than non-RKG).

Please, no coach can succeed under Jerry Jones.

It will take a guy who is willing to give Jerry the lions share of the glory.
Jason probably is fine with that but then he doesn't seem to be a very good game day coach.

God, I miss that man. Jerry ruined everything pretty quickly after tasting success from Jimmy's hands.

What u fail to realize is that Jimmy was just as much at fault as Jerry. Jimmy wanted all the credit and Jerry wanted to play in his sandbox, after all he did own that sandbox. It was great while it lasted but even the players admit that if Jimmy had stayed they all would have been burnt out by his endless mind games.
Parcells was a very similar personalty, great and intense for a few yrs but then had to move on as it was a tough act to swallow for the longer term.

That's a great piece of gossip, but can you corroborate that with any links, articles, or videos? Probably not. In this very video, you have Mike and Troy saying they wish he'd never left. I don't know why Emmitt isn't in this video but I'm sure he'd say the same.
If you can find Curvin Richards or John Roper, they might back you up.

Listen to today's Talkin Cowboys episode at the very end. Mickey Spagnola explained it all and how Jimmy got himself out of Dallas.

I've seen Emmitt say before that he wished he hadn't left because he believed that with Johnson they would have won at least 4 Superbowls.

Interesting speculation, I've never heard any of this about Jimmy, quite the opposit, actually. Seeing the players admissions would be helpful in understanding this revelation.
As for Parcells, there was a lot of recrimination for his tough discipline among the players after he left. Alternatey, it would appear that Wade and Jason have treated the team members like "men" by not exerting a lot of control over them and they've clearly been a model of self discipline and percision ever since.

Even if we won 4 or 5 SB with Jimmy not leaving, we would have ended up where we are today. Jimmy would have eventually left and JJ would run the ship into the current state we are in. It would have been a good legacy to talk about but the main issue is that we do not have a process/approach as an organization to compete year in and year out and win 1-2 SB every decade.

Maybe they would have, all good things come to an end, but they would have had more then 3 rings before they burnt out.

I see it the same way. Two egos the size of Texas. There wasn't room for both.
Jimmy was a great coach and had to be a major jerk. He wanted the players to fear him. He said that it damaged all of his personal relationships and he has been able to repair those once he left coaching.

Both were at fault. Let's not act as if Jimmy Johnson was a saint. He wanted out because he, ultimately, wanted to get to Miami. He didn't want to be locked into a long-term contract with the Cowboys. So Jimmy, being the master psychologist, orchestrated his way out of Dallas. He knew exactly what he was doing.

Probably true but also completely irrelevant to me or to the comment about what was built back then.
I'd much rather have what we've had here the last decade plus with the knowledge that Jimmy stayed and the team won 4 or 5 Superbowls in the 90's instead of just three.
I'd much rather be able to say this team 3 peated, or maybe even 4 peated back then, even with right now being exactly as it is now, then just the 3.
What is going on now has absolutely no bearing on what I wish this team could have had and done back then if the two could have not been children and worked together instead.

I am watching "America's Game" on NFL Network right now. Jimmy said he planned to leave all along. He had the date penciled in on the calendar. He left one month earlier than planned. He said he hated the person he had to be to coach the Cowboys. He wasn't happy.

I know Jimmy was going to leave sometime, but I wish he would have stayed and won 6 or 7 superbowls(yes,     I said 6 or 7) . This would have made him the greatest coach of all time and the Cowboys the greatest team of all time hands down.

Wish I could have seen those teams live and not just on NFL Network flash back videos.:(
best part of that video is segment Jimmy is giving speech at Miami University. You can just see the fire and passion that man has...how easy it was to get motivated to play for him.
