A CB at #9 with the new rules that make CBs ineffective, and then they trade away their 1st next year so they can move up to take a 3rd round prospect in the 1st round!!! :lmao2: :lmao2: :lmao2:

I think Carlos Rogers is a good pick. Jason Campbell is Quincy II.

They got no better this year.

They lost Coles, Pierce, Smoot.

They picked up Moss and a nice center.

The got Rogers to replace Smoot and a QB when they have Ramesy and paying $43M to Brunell.

They also lost pick to move up.

They are a mess.

Lavar is pissed off about the Signing Bonus.

Portis is a thug.

Taylor is a loser.

How sweet it is.

If I had the patience, and inclination, I'd register over at Extremeskins just to laugh at the dozens of people who ripped ESPN for their "Campbell leak" story. They never thought it would happen. Guess what - sometimes sports journalists actually do their homework and get things right. Rarely happens in Dallas recently, but obviously it is easier to get scoops in D.C.

Ramsey, Campbell, and a pricey Brunell. Not to mention a re-signed Hasselbeck. Sounds like an organization with a well-formed long term plan.

Look at this gem of a post:

I will officially state for the record -

Running game + Defense = wins

Improved O-line and a good sound corner and we are a better team.

We need a QB to manage the game only.

Very cliche - but trust the FO knows more than we do what they need to win.

I actually think Campbell is going to be a very good QB. He is by no means a 3rd round guy. He is the legit 3rd best Qb in the draft. But of course looking at the Redskins roster they have more needs to fill than QB (so I though). But Gibbs gets the QB he thinks is right for that franchise. Lets hope he's wrong.

Gibbs thought Brunell was worth 43M, good luck with that.

The best part of it is that they don't have a 1st round pick next year.

Check out this post from ESPN's Redskin board, ouch!

http://forums.espn.go.com/espn/thread?forumID=697&threadID=1664144&lastPostID=9095571

"Congrats Gibbs, you are on the verge of losing a life long fan. This makes no sense at all. Our offense will sux again and Campbell sux. I have seen him play several times..... and he isn't that great at all. He simply handed the ball off to Williams and Brown. I can't believe we just did this. I am so angry right now and just threw my Skins hat in the trash. I can't respect an organization that is clearly losing it. Anyone who supports this decesion is a complete dumbazz."

He says later on,

"We should have taken Williams and you know it. Williams is better than every receiver we have.
We could have gotten a great corner at the 25 pick easily. We are beefing up our defense due to the fact we lost Smoot. That is one guy people. Our defense is great.... its like a girl with DDs getting a breast implant. It makes little sense.
Our offense lacks personal and we know this. Instead of improving the offense, we pick a medicore college QB who only did well his Junior and Senior year. Damn you Campbell i hate you all ready. Hopefully he gets bowled over in the pre-season and tears his ACL or something. You aren't wanted on this team.
BTW.... the draft pretty much over for us seeing that we have 3 low round draft picks.
Also, is Campbell worth next years 1st rounder. NO!!!!! He won't have an impact for years if ever.
I am just about in tears now."

Let me understand this... the washington redskins traded away next years 1st and 4rth and a 3rd this year in exchange for Denver's 25th overall to select Jason Campbell?????????/ :D Bwwwwaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

And on top of that they spend their #9 overall merely ATTEMPTING to replace the offseason debacle of losing a very good corner in Fred Smoot?????????????? Bwwwwwwwwwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh hhhhh :D

Washington had a great draft. Both Auburn players look excellent; I must say Iwas impressed with their QB-- moreso than Aaron "Akili" Rodgers.

Campbell is far too accurate to put in the same sentence with PoorQuincy. I think it was a good move on the Skins part, seeing how Ramsey has the pocket presence of a turnip, Brunell hasn't been himself for four years now, Hasselback is a scrub, and Hamden's unlikely to make too much more out of NFL Europe than PoorHutch did.

But the bright side is a QB controversy is inevitable in Skinsland now, with Campbell starring as Gibbs handpicked saviour and the Skins fans who have convinced themselves Lav Coles' toe was the major offensive culprit after Brunell last year frantically trying to evade the truth (Ramsey stinks).

Hats off to Gibbs. I thought last season and this offseason was proof enough football had passed him by. But he's still conscious enough to know he needs a quarterback.

I agree I dunno how Campbell could be compared to Quincy, he has a better arm, accuracy, and just looks much more comfortable in the pocket than Quincy Carter. Campbell had some rough times in Auburn but he definitely stepped it up his final season. If he can build from his progress the guy has a great shot to be something. I think he's one of those guys that could be something 3-4 years in the same offense.

And Quincy was 3-0 against the 'skins and 3-1 against the 'gints and 1-2 against the Iggles and without him we were 0-2 against the 'Gints who had a losing record, 0-2 against the Iggles and oh, we didn't make the playoffs, while he helped the Jets to win 2 games which was the difference in them making the playoffs. Plus we scored 4 more points without him with a weaker schedule, a top notch running back and a better receiving core. And he won 16 of our last 31 victories, while we needed 4 other qb's to come up with rest.........

Campbell also played 4 years instead of Q's 2 and half and also had a better supporting cast and coaches. Q's old Georgia coaches are no longer in the business and his best WR is now playing corner for the Broncos.

I must have missed it... did the Skins get a second or a third rounder for Rod Gardner. ;) We need KingBrice here to fill us in.
