i want to know everyones thoughts on woody... ive seen a lot of people praise him and a lot of people bash him... my self i like him... he has great return speed and has some moves on the return as well. in coverage i think hes a little rough around the edges but i think with time and work he could be a great assett to the defensive side of the ball as well as the special teams... what do yall think?

I think we should have made him a 3rd down back/emergency qb rather than a safety.

I think he will be very hard pressed to make the team. A great athlete without a position. I doubt BP keeps him just for his return skills with all the other guys he is trying back there and I don't think he will contribute enough on defense to make the team.

Love the talent but I don't see him making the team.

I like Woody but he has what appears to be an uphill battle right now. Just have to wait and see what happens at safety in camp.

I don't guess you've watched much NFLE games because he's been run over and schooled in pass coverage he is so bad in Pass coverage they actually started him at OLB and he didn't start a couple games. And when I say run over I mean he was run over. He appears to shy away from contact for some reason. I don't think he will even make another NFLE squad his best bet now IMO is AFL

I think he will be a former Cowboy again in a little over 3 months.

"i dont guess" u know how to read either?.... never once did i say he was a god. i said he was rough around the edges but with time could be good on the D side of the ball and is already decent in the return game... and yes i watch NFLE and know all about what hes done over there... so dont sit there and tell me what i have and havent done

I wasn't trying to ruffle you feathers you asked for opinions and I figured if you had seen the games he's played in over there you wouldn't ask he's not good enough to really compete with the Players in NFLE so why would anyone think he could in the NFL? He has one good return and that was yesterday. He shys away from contact on D gets turned around in pass coverage and totally gets run over by RB's and when he has a chance to make a big play he blows it.(I'm refering to last week on the 40 yard pass down the sideline where he could have leveled the WR but instead it looked like he didn't know what to do he kinda swated at the ball as the receiver caught it and came no where near to batting it away.) I guess with exp he would have just knocked the crap out of the receiver. you say rough around the edges I say rough is an understatement but I will say this he has a pass to TC and anything can happen he has just as good of a chance as any other player there.

Anyway relax nothing was ment personal by it....

BTW in the return game he's averaging 18.2 per kick return he hasn't been returning punts as you know. but hey 18.2 is good which is 8th in NFLE I wonder how that would translate to the NFL? I don't really guess it can because the blocking he would have here is better but then again so would the coverage teams. so take it for what its worth another stat....

I like Danzler, I wish he could play 1 position well. I just dont see keeping him unless hes more then adequate at several positions since he cant play one really well.

With the upgrade in talent on the team now, I dont know if that helps or hurts him. We dont need a Kick Returning "specialist". We dont really need CB depth anymore. Do we need a QB? I dunno. We dont need RB help. Maybe a receiver, can he catch the ball well enough.

You tell me where you would put him, who hes gunna beat out? I would love for him to make the team, but not at the expense of hurting the team by not being better at one thing then the person being cut (if that makes sence).

I think Woody could be a return man. I don't think he's in the KC guys class (forget his name). But he's definitely above average and a threat to make a big play everytime he touches the ball.

He'll have to do more than that tho to make the team. And he's been up and down the times I've seen him in Europe on defense. So I agree with you. He'll get a chance but I think the talent on this team is reaching the point where marginal players won't make the team.

I think he is an extreme long shot to make the team but seems a genuinely likeable guy.

Dante Hall. No where near his scale.... his 18.2 is on 20 kickreturns thats second most returns in NFLE his long is 57 which came yesterday and before that it was 32. Now he has been playing with an injured arm don't know what he did to it but he has had a cast on it. Which is why he hasn't been returning kicks for the previous two weeks. He's dangerous for sure but he hasn't really been burning up E against 99% scrubs.

I agree Jterell from everything I hear he is very likeable. I wish him the best and IMO may the best players make it.

You asked for it:

Nice kid...great college player at Clemson...sucks as an NFL player.

Won't make the team...no freakin' way, no how, no position...he isn't even a good return man, having had only 1 great return in his career.

It's time to stop the insanity...if Dantzler makes the Cowboys 53 man roster, it means we're not nearly as good as we hope we are...It's highly unlikely he'll be on any NFL team this year...it's time to find a career.

I saw him in a bowl game against Ron Mexico and it wasn't even close. 3rd down back all the way.

He's a modern day Guido Merkins/Gory Lockbaum.

Great athlete, had one of the best returns I have ever seen, but kick returning is his only real asset. And we can find other people to do that. He wont be on the team by the time the season rolls around.

Great athlete does not equal good/great NFL player. I'm not even sure if he would make a good player to put on the practice squad.

I think he's a vastly underwhelming talent who only people on this forum seem to like...he cant catch, cant tackle, cant be a RB, cant play QB and is a mediocre at best return guy...

he wont make it past the first cutdown, and might not even go to camp

Guys like Tyson Thompson, Lance Frazier, and Jamaica Rector have pushed him off the team. And they may not even make it.

I think that's what I said. Not in Dante's class but dangerous.

The Frankfort/Berlin game is being replayed on the NFL channel now. Danztler is not playing badly but I can't see the safeties well.

What's the story with the cast?

He's got the ideal skills, athletic frame, and abilities I look in for a returner. His KR TD vs. the Niners was perhaps the greatest KR I've ever seen. Problem is they can't find a position for him.

He can't be a RB because he just isn't physical enough and he's too short to be a receiver. What he needs to do is stick with being a safety and learn the position, even if he gets cut. He can become a serviceable backup with very good return skills to make a team.

People forget that Troy Brown was cut by Parcells on about 10 different occasions.
