How could any Boys fan not go with this one! This was the changing of the guard! Revenge for the 81' championship game! Honestly, I knew we would win that game. Dave Wandstedt's D was #1 and we had the triplets... We had just dominated Philly in big D in the divisional round while SF played a sloppy game in beating the Skins in Gibbs last year. I knew we would win and how sweet it was!
Although I'm kind of old school.. last years Seattle game brought me so much Joy in a dismal season. No way I though JJ could out top his Bears performance but he did. What a wonderful win against a playoff team in their house when they really needed it!

I know it's nuts, but the win over Washington in '89 with Paul Palmer and Steve Walsh was especially satisfying that year for a couple of weeks. The downside is we missed the number 1 overall pick in the draft because we had drafted Walsh in the Supplemental draft. One of Jimmah's few mistakes....along with the Stan Smagala trade those first couple of years of 'Turning the Thing Around.'

I for one thought Smagala was going to be a keeper... he was lightening fast, (second fastest behind Alexander Wright) and could hit... he just couldn't find the ball.
My favorite win by far is the 79 win vs the Skins, then the 99 win in the season opener... and of course what was mentioned before, the win last year vs Seattle... because I was there. 10 points down with less than 2 minutes?? My buddy that I went with was a big Seahawks fan and he kept saying, "Man, they are going to lose this game, I can feel it... " and he was right. I had such a blast at that game... now they are going back there again this year but I won't be in the area.... :bang2:

The only other game that came close was the first SB victory when we beat the Dolphins. Being the Champions for the first time was sweet.

Would have to say the battle for the thumb. Made it even more sweeter that I was watching it with a house full of Steeler fans. The Bowl win over the Broncos a close second. Of course anytime we beat the Iggles it is a very sweet win...

Jason Garret's Thanksgiving Day game versus Green Bay is also a favorite....
This is the one that first came to my mind. I remember them saying Mrs. Garret was just like throw it up to Alvin he'll go get it- and I believe that's what he did too.
Extra sweet with it being the Packers and them thinking it was their day to finally upseed the bully Cowboys...lol they couldn't even do it with a 3rd string qb against their cherished pillpopper Farve, we owned them like no team has ever owned a team before and that game proved it,...with exception of the Redskins as of late though.
Can't remember the exact year, I was a kid. It was the Thanksgiving game against the Redskins, Clint Longly comes in for Roger, who had a concussion. He lights up the skins...Pearson makes a 50 odd yard TD catch with about 30 seconds left. I know most of you saw the clip. I won 25 cents off of my Uncle.
Being the kid that I was, I don't know why they didn't smack me. I was jumping and screaming for about 5 minutes after that catch. Just a moment I'll never forget, even if I don't remember the date....lol

The last four of the five Super Bowl wins which I had the privilege of seeing. Heck, after each touchdown in Super Bowl XXVII, I went outside my house into the street and howled, "HOW 'BOUT DEM COWBOYS!"
That was fun, but one of my neighbors took offense and called the cops. They rolled up towards the end of the game. One of them was a Bills fan. That kinda sucked. :(

I agree with this one. I wasn't even born or was too young to experience the victorious and glory days of the Cowboys during the late 60s and 70s. In fact, my earliest experience that I can remember as a Cowboys fan was "the Catch". I remember watching it on television in Missouri, crying after it happened, yelling he was "out of bounds" until my mom came in and calmed me down and said it's just a game.
Watching the 92 championship game was sweet, especially when Alvin caught that pass and raced to the end zone. Both me and my brother were up yelling "go, go, go". I'll never forget the feeling I had that day after that last whistle blew. A feeling that was consummated by watching the Cowboys blow out Buffalo two weeks later. My first SB experience for my favorite team. Times were good...

what is your favorite Dallas Cowboy win?
I have been a fan far to long to narrow it down to one game. All of the ones mentioned were great games. I start thinking of an answer and I think of all the super bowl games, the hail mary game, TD's 99 yard run game, I could go on and on.

1977 Superbowl against the Broncos. It was my first Superbowl and we were going up against the "Orange Crush" defense. Sounded intimidating to a 9 yr old. Also the fact that Denver could only come up with a grand total of 156 total yards of offense.
"Doomsday" was the defense of the day!!! Craig Morton (ex-cowboy) was intercepted 4 times and Denver also fumbled 4 times. I saw my first halfback option pass thrown by Robert Newhouse for 29 yards to one of my personal favorites....Golden Richards. And a co-MVP of Randy White and Harvey Martin. I got to have my cake and eat it too.

you remeber Paul Palmer taking it 60 yards for the score on one play. Dont remmeber who it was against, but it was just straight up the middle and down the right sideline. I dont remember many individual plays from that year, but I remember seeing that and thinking, not bad. Course he did nothing the rest of the way of note, but that one play sticks in my mind. I never heard of Paul Palmer before that season. Never heard from him again, but that one play was a bright spot in a dark year.
As for the win I remember most, Thanksgiving day 1975/76 against the skins. When Glen Carano came in and won the day after Roger was hurt. The 50 yard hail mary to drew pearson. I remember that cause my dad started cussing and ranting after that play. Turns out he bet against the boys that day. To this day my dad will not bet on a cowboys game, he hates them, but knows they will always win more then they lose.

The downside is we missed the number 1 overall pick in the draft because we had drafted Walsh in the Supplemental draft. One of Jimmah's few mistakes....along with the Stan Smagala trade those first couple of years of 'Turning the Thing Around.' I don't really think the Walsh trade was a mistake since Jimmy then parlayed Walsh into additional picks and the 1990 draft wasn't really that strong. We ended up getting the best player by far and the top of the first round wasn't that strong:
1. George- we already had our franchise QB, and we definately got the better one!
2. Blair Thomas- Thank god we didn't end up with him. Even with the power of hindsight, Emmit was the better prospect coming out of college.
3. Cortez Kennedy- Good player who we could've used, but not worth the top overall pick.
4. Keith McCants- A total bust.
5. Junior Seau- Obviously great, but do you think Jimmy would've picked him first overall?
I think Jimmy Johnson would've probably traded down, even if we did have the first overall pick. So we may well have ended up with Emmitt anyways (or James Francis!)

Super Bowl wins are first. Anytime you win those they are at the top. Maybe I would have the one over the Steelers on top since I'm such a fan of Switzer being an OU fan.
Smith's game against the Giants when he beat them with one shoulder. I still tear up watching a highlight of that game.
SF championship game in 92.
Beating Green Bay with our backup QB(Garrett) I think that was 94 or 95. I hate Brett Farve with a passion. I never liked his style. He is one of the most overrated players ever IMO. So beating him is always great.
Those are the ones that come to mind for me. I'm not all that old though(21)

the 2003 game in the Meadowlands Vs.the Gints, the OT win
I know this is kind of new but really the way things happen when got up we let the gints come back then we turn around send the game inot OT, and pull out the win in Meadowlands, BP first game there, and the game that made our season a success

TD's 99 yard run game, I could go on and on.
Too bad the Vikes won that game.......My friend that's a Vikes fan makes a point of reminding me of that.
I'd have to say the '92 Championship as well. I just remember thinking we were a year away. I was thrilled we were in the Championship. Like Aikman, I had no idea how good this team really was.
After winning that game, I knew we'd win the Super Bowl.

The 1979 regular season finale against the skins.
Oh yeah....coming back two times in that game...trailing by 17...taking the lead...trailing by 13...and then Staubach's last TD pass in regular season. So many players made so many key plays in that game. Larry Cole stopping Riggins on 3rd and 1 to give Dallas one last shot was classic. Then Mosley didn't get a chance to kick a last FG as the refs ruled time had run out on the game. Now that was an amazing game.
Fantastic! Classic. It's never been like that for us since Roger quit. One last second come from behind victory after another is what made me a Cowboy fan in the mid 70's.
The Hail Mary from Staubach to Pearson to beat the Vikings! I will never forget it...

The Super Bowl wins are obvious favorites. In addition, my favorite wins are:
Danny White's 1980 Playoff comeback v. Atlanta - first game I remember watching start to finish
The season opening 1992 win v. Washinton on MNF. - huge upset that let every Cowboy fan know we were finally back
1993 season finale OT win over the G-Men to clinch the NFC East - the game that would put "obnoxious sports bar Giant fan" on the path to extinction for years to come.
my third fave is the overtime game against the giants in 93 when emmitt seperated his shoulder and kept playing anyways.
that was probably the best example of two teams not wanting to lose. a game where you hate for any team to lose. one of, if not the best football games i've ever seen.

Too many to pick from the Hail Mary game, SB XII, the big comeback games, but I'm going with 2 from the 92 season.
MNF opener and we spank the defending champ Redskins to set the tone for the season.
Later that season I saw my first, and only so far, Cowboy game at Texas Stadium in a win over KC. Going to and from with a plane full of Chiefs fans was a blast.

Hard to pick just one but in that game all you heard leading up to the game was about the Orange Crush defense. To have have kicked there a$$es like we did then have Harvey and Randy share the MVP's was like adding insult to injury. I didn't sleep a wink the entire week leading up to that game.

1993 NFC Championship at Texas Stadium when all the sports reporters said it was going to be one of the greatest games ever and the Cowboys crushed Seifert's 49ers with Jimmy's brass balls, 38-21. The 1993 game at home at Christmas against Washington when we beat them 38-3 was great too, I was there. As you can see, I like blow outs.

hard to pick one...but of the games I've seen (since 75)
the obvious ones:
1) dominating super bowl wins vs Denver and Buffalo
2) NFC Champ wins vs SF in 92 and 93...the 93 rout was particularly pleasing...had Aikman not got the concussion to start the 2nd half we might have hung 50+ on them...he was nearly perfect that day and we already were leading 28-7
3) 1975 hail mary game vs Minny
4) Staubach's last reg season game, comeback win vs Washington 1979
not so obvious ones:
1) beating Philly at home in 1992 regular season
2) demolition of the Giants to open 1995 regular season
3) Emmitt's 237yd gem vs Philly in 1993
4) Aikman's 5 tds lead to OT comeback vs Skins in 1999 opener
5) 1981 playoff destruction of Tampa Bay
6) 1993 season finale at NYG to clinch homefield adv
7) total domination of GB in 1991, 1993 (2) 94 (2) 95 (2) and 96
8) blowout playoff wins vs Philly in 1992 and 95
9) stonewalling Walter Payton in 1977 playoff 37-7 win
10) 1986 win vs NYG on MNF...welcome to Dallas Herschel Walker...one of only 2 Giant losses that yr

'92 NFC Championship Game because it was a surprise to me that we won. As the new kid on the block in that game it is surprising we went in to SF and won on the first try. Usually a young team like Dallas was at that time loses a game like that because they aren't experienced enough to win that game on the road. A loss in that situation is usually part of a new dynasty's "baptism by fire." The fact that Jimmy's Boys pulled it off in front of those front running Niner fans made it extra sweet. I think that slant to Harper will always be, for me, the most unforgettable play I'll ever see in Cowboys history. It was just a ballsy, ballsy call by Norv & Jimmy.

I also have another personal favorite: Dec. 15, 1991 at Philadelphia. I was at that game, a 25-13 Dallas win that featured a punt return TD by Kelvin Martin and Steve Beuerlein at QB. The silence in the big, bad Vet that day was deafening as the Eagle fans filed out in silence. First time that I really knew that group was special.

The 1993 NFC Title Game. We had beaten the Niners the year before at the 'Stick. They had come off a dominant victory over the Giants and looked really tough.
I recall have trouble sleeping the night before, I was so into this one. I was going to the game and I was so incredibly on edge. At 4 a.m, I checked out the Sportscenter replay. Of course, it was all about the conference championship games.
I had been at a basketball tournament the last couple of days so I didn't really get to keep up with a lot of Friday's or Saturday's goings on. This was just three days after the famous "Three Inch Headlines" guarantee Jimmah made on Galloway's WBAP show, Sports at Six. He had obviously slammed a few Heineken's prior to that. He just had to call Randy and let him know who was going to win the ballgame.
Beautiful.
So back to watching 4 a.m. Sportscenter. Leading off was this stuff about some George Seifert response to the Jimmy Johnson prognostication. Naturally, I pay close attention. They played the soundbite of Seifert saying, "The man's got b---s. Whether they're brass or paper mache, we'll find out on Sunday."
To which the great Jimmy Johnson replied, "They're brass." And when I heard that I worried no more. I went to bed around five and slept like a baby until noon.
Got up, dressed, went to the game. Watched Troy dink and dunk to Emmitt as the Cowboys decided to isolate Deuce on Bill Romanowski. And there wasn't a darn thing the Niners could do about it. The game was over before it started. It was as sweet as it got, for me anyway - 38 to 17.
They're brass! How can you not love that? For that, I will love Jimmah always. Forever. Best big game coach I ever saw.
