I think Nors asked and I did a search, but never found a reply.

Do you know the details of the Vinny contract? Are there LTBE incentives in the deal? What are the escalators?

Sorry, if this was already answered.

Thanks in advance.

I should get his incentive information this week. All I have so far is that his cap number is $1.1 million and that he got a $100,000 advance on his base salary (in lieu of a signing bonus).

Adam, what would the veteran minimum be for a player of VT's extended tenure? I know a 10 year vet is around $750,000, with about $400-450,000 counting against the cap.

It's possible at least 1/2 or more of that $1.1M could be minimum salary.

Vinny's minimum salary would be $760,000, since he has played more than 10 seasons. But he doesn't qualify for the "minimum salary discount," which makes a veteran player's cap number lower than his base salary in some situations.

Dedric Ward, however, does qualify for the benefit. His base salary is $660,000, but only $455,000 of it counts against the salary cap. He also has a $25,000 roster bonus, although I'm not sure when it is/was due. He might only get it if it makes the opening-day roster.

By the way, I got some information about Vinny's incentives. He can earn up to $5.5 million in incentives this season, based on playing time, statistics and/or win-loss record, making the playoffs, going to and/or winning the Super Bowl and making the Pro Bowl. But I don't have anything more specific than that. So he could make as much as $6.6 million this season.

So, we'll be able to carry over quite a bit of money into next year's cap due to his incentives, correct?

are the incentives LTBE and count against this years cap? I'd be irate if that happened. Pretty sure Vinne earns that we pay for ala credit card.

All of his incentives are NLTBE, so they do not count against the cap unless and until he earns them.
