unfortunately, I got a phone call just as it was starting. It'll repeat later today. Did anyone catch it?

No... but I'm sure Nors is in rapture at the moment.

My question is how did he pull himself away from his game of golf long enough to do a radio spot?

He actually was on the golf course during the interview.

I heard it... It was a lot of nothing, honestly. He feels more comfortable than he ever has. Just has to play well when he gets his chance. It's definitely harder for smaller-school guys to get a chance, but coaches and teammates don't care where a guy comes from as much as the media seems to. What separates Bledsoe from Quincy and Vinny is Drew's extreme confidence in himself... He stepped in and took over from his first day, unlike the other two guys.

That was about it... Not much.

I have to give credit to the Dallas area media. They do twice as many player interviews as the Tampa Bay area does over here. Of course, the Tampa area sports radio is at the bottom of the barrell anyway.

Just my thoughts. You guys are luckier than you think. I'm glad I found this site.

Thanks for the report, Lab.

I like that in a player. Especially those that are suppose to be good. They can step up without offending others or stepping on anybody's toes ... and even if they do step on a few toes along the way, deal with it. As long as he delivers its all gravy.

This is hardly impressive.

Carter could not step in and take over, Tony Banks was our QB at the time.

Vinny could not do the same as he was behind Carter.

Bledsoe was handed the starting job before the ink was dry on his contract.

I would be pretty confident too if I had things handed to me on a silver platter.

Still, the attitude that it's his offense to lead and the he can get the job done is what you want.

I'd rather him take charge and lead than simply expect the team to follow him because he did walk in as a starter.

Said he sees a difference in the attitude of the team from last year. Last year they didn't have the sense of urgency that he saw in the minicamp this year.

Well we aren't exactly going to hear Romo say anything bad about Bledsoe--- come'on lets be real!

Agreed....maybe this time if BP goes walking off the field, he KNOWS that at least somebody will take charge....even if it is Drew Bledsoe

Bledsoe will become a fan favorite as this season unfolds. We take it deep into January he will be revered in Dallas history. I'm excited for the season to start, couldn't say that mid last camp. Last years offense was VT's personality - Listless. Bledsoe will bring some INTENSITY to this team - JMO

If he takes us deep into January he will have had lots of help and he will get some deserved kudos but hardly be revered. JMO

Danny Whites stats are comparable to Rger and Troys. Drew snakes a Super Bowl or two with Parcells. He's revered in Dallas lore.

Why does everyone diss Bledsoe. I would say that 65% of a guys career is detemined in the NFL by what is around him. Would Parcells not be the best judge of what Bledsoe needs to be successful. Lets see, what does Bledsoe need. I would say 1.protection ( Bye Gurode, Hello Rivera), 2.a good RB that can get to the outside( close call, but I think we have one). 3. TE, (tough one, but we may have found an above average one.) After that, its gravy. We have a speed guy Glenn( Bledsoe has a little experience w/ him). We have Keyshawn. A move the sticks guy. We may have talent beyond that(still unknown to be fair.) This offense will move the chains. More than last year anyway. Parcells is more about the defense. Thats the bread and butter. Who here can say that the defense will be worse and the offense will be worse. Or either one?

Let me ask you, where would Tom Brady be on last years San Fran team?

Bledsoe needs excellent, not just good protection, specially up that middle, top-notch sure-handed security blanket TE, a back good enough for D's to put 8 in the box, an exelllent to elite sidelines receiver (or two), and a good possession receiver.

If he needs all those components for us to win, meaning, a near perfect bus to drive, then I prefer to give the perfect bus to the future, like Rothelisberger in Pittsburgh was.

If we're riddled by injury as last year to the tailback and speed receiver and blocking te, and have to go with Tucker and Gurode quality play all year, and Bledsoe wins, THEN I will give him props for being a better option than Henson
If it ends up Witten the lead receiver again, Key playing injured like last year, and Morgan dropping balls left and right, and an Eddie George running game...and Drew Bledsoe gets it done, I will revere him myself forever.

But if he needs a perfect scenario to win, after all these year of experience, heck, he's no better than Vinny or Quincy, and actually less.

That is what I have been saying <sigh>

DrewB is a have to have QB...

he has to have...oline-rb-te-wr-coaching-def-st-cheerleading-mascot all in the very good to excellent range...

should one of those things fail the likely hood of qb failure is increased more than it should be

Let me ask you, where would Tom Brady be on last years San Fran team?I diss him because he is yet another retread at the end of his career. I'd rather have him as the backup and insurance if our young guys can't cut it.

It is hard for me to relate to guys from other teams in key roles. I blame Jerry for this really. Long before injuries derailed Aikman's career I wanted to be grooming QBs for the future. We fiddled while Rome burned. Now we're running stop gap retreads.

Doesn't do much for me.

What QB in the NFL isn't?

I agree with dmq in that our surrounding cast will be much better than last season. The biggest difference to me will be our depth. Will our young guys be able to contribute at a high level like we've seen in around the league?

Both offensively and defensively we need our youngsters to step up.

VT was running the nfls #1 rated offense in week 6 until the wheels began to fall off and we were caught with no spares. Drew is more than capable of the same thing.

We will hell on wheels if we are injury free throughout the season but ultimately its gonna be our depth that determines our success and that will be in the hands of Crayton, Copper , and even Morgan
