I was thinking that a great way to pass the time between now and training camp would be to have an Ultimate NFL Draft. Here is how it would work:
-All NFL players, including rookies, are eligible.
-22 rounds (a starter at every position).
-10 GMs to keep it to a manageable size.
-The rounds would progress in alternating order. That is, the GM with the first pick in Round 1 would have the tenth pick in Round 2. Meanwhile, the GM with the fifth pick would have the fifth pick in every round. This should provide balance and fairness.
If I could get nine other interested parties, I would be happy to organize it. I am inclined to open this only to more established members of the board, because I believe that only they would be reliable enough to make this fairly large undertaking work. I realize that it is presumptous of me to take this stance, especially given my miniscule post count. But I have been a lurker on this board for literally years, even back to the old board and the days of boozeman and cbz (whatever happened to those guys anyways?) and really do believe that I have a pretty good feeling for who is who on this board. I also believe that unless only dedicated, reliable board members fill the GM spots this project will wallow and inevitably fail. So if you are interested, send me a PM and we'll see what we can do.
