My first child was born on October 2, 1994 and my wife had started contractions early that morning - about 2 am or so - and we timed them, etc like we're supposed to. As they started to pick up their pace as the morning dragged on, she said "I'm ready to go to the hospital" ... right after the first quarter of the Dallas/Washington game had ended. Being the loving, compassionate husband that I am, I told her "when they're at least five minutes apart,your water breaks, or the game is over, THEN we can go!" :eek:

Yes, the Cowboys gave the skins a spanking that day and my kid was born at 8:12 that evening ... no sense in missing a good game, eh? :D
