Burnett making plays last night. He's battling Als to start outside. When does he wrest the start? I say Week 1 Burnett beats him out.


Fowler, Shanle had good productive games inside pushing to start opposite Bradie James!

I have to agree with the other two posters, Nors.

Al S had a very good game last night. He did look at LOT bigger to boot.

I don't see Burnett starting for him unless Al gets injured, or the team begins to flounder (God forbid either of those happen).

I'm excited about Burnett as you are, but be patient. He will make a contribution.

I have to agree with the other two posters, Nors.

Love Burnett, but Burnett over Als in week one is AGENDA talk.

burnett will start...

I saw the game and I saw al's play last year.

burnett is simply fearless and agreessive...the 3-4 has to have LB's like that to make it work.

but give it another game or two and it will become more clear...

he was ok...he definitely has alot of upside but he needs some reps...

I'd be a little surprised if he starts week one, but starting at some point this yr isnt far fetched

I don't think it's out of the question the kid starts in San Diego. In fact, I think he has a real shot at it. That said, Al looked same ol', same ol' to me. Reliable. Steady. Understands assignments and handles his responsibilities for the most part.

But he will not make too many plays.

How did Burnett look last night?




for a 2nd round rookie....he looked really good

he seems to like contact always sticking his head in the play

always around the ball

got good pressure on the QB

seem to be really comfortable out there

had 3 solo tackles...I think


after last night I really like the player alot....good signs from a rookie

Burnett made plays last night? I must have been watching a different Cowboys vs Cards game. :rolleyes:

Singleton was probably our 2nd best LB last night (behind Dat Nguyen).

How soon will Burnett be starting?
Maybe after the bye week. I would like to see him be put into a starters role because of his great play rather than injury or someone else playing poorly however.

Yeah he may still be a little behind since he missed some TC. Of course all rookies can benifit from reps too, now I just wish I could see some games to see their progress :-/
