I can't believe I just said that.
Anyway, we all know how praised K.C. is for their O-Line and how P. Holmes is notorious for making something outta nothing.
Well the Cards 1st team shut them down as well.
Priest Holmes rushed eight times for 16 yards versus the Cardinals Saturday.
It was odd to see Arizona shut Priest down.

Arizona does have a pretty good defense.
Beyond that they give great effort int he preseaosn because Denny wants to turn aroud the enviroment of losing.
I think they are a playoff team this year.

A playoff team?
Could be.
They do have some weapons.
I think Warner, while past his prime, is a very capable QB. They could be a solid contender if their defense is good and their running game improves.
Cincinatti, Detroit and Arizona on the rise? What is this world coming to?
I still don't know what to make of Arrington however. I'm somewhat interested in drafting him late in my fantasy league but I have to see something first.
I guess we'll find out how good they are first hand because we'll be seeing em later this year.

I think they are in the worst division in football which makes my guess they make the playoffs alot easier to stomache. JJ should be pretty good as a 2nd/3rd fantasy back.

Weak division and somebody has to win it. I agree.

And maybe, since they've sucked for so long and Denny Green really tries to win preseason games, they are just more up for them than their opponents. It's not a real game, when they start shutting people out when it counts I'll take notice.

I wouldn't say they shut KC down. They had 10 points in the first quarter. One of their CBs had 3 PI's called on him for about 80 yards in that time, covering someone most people on here probably never heard of. It looked like they were playing the run tough, but weren't that impressive, they weren't getting a great pass rush. Their offense didn't look very good either in the first quarter (that's all I saw).

I don't know how many teams are in the leagues you guys play in, but there are less than twenty sure fire feature RB's in the NFL, and Arrington is one of them. He is a definite number 2 RB in twelve team leagues. If you're going to wait to pick him late in the draft, you'll be late. He'll be gone by the end of the third round.

Zona has struggled to run the ball for years now and have lacked any semblance of a running game. Shipp is a decent player who should also get touches. There's a school of thought that says JJ is really more a 3rd down back. If I were looking at rookie backs he'd be the 4th or 5th I'd choose.
I'd go with Brandon Jacobs over him because Jacobs should get goalline duty in NY.
Oh and in my keeper league I have LT:)

In any other division, they would be fighting for second or third place.
In that division, they could run away with it.

They have a very fast Defense. They will contend this year. Very balanced Offense and D.

oh they are good...with dockett, okeafor and berry teams are going to have problems up front with them...their lb's fly to the ball and their secondary is going to be better with griffith and rolle to add to wilson...I didnt realize they were any good on D until we played them and Rolle didnt even start....

if the cards get a serious runningback along with another really good O lineman or two they are going to be scary next year...if warner holds up

Why next year?
There defense is potentially a top 10 unit
They have a pass rush
Boldin, Fitzgerald and Johnson are either on par or are perhaps even better than Bruce. Holt and Hakim
Arrington vs Faulk? no contest. But, considering how effective Arrington could be because of the Cards Trio @ WR..
I could see a scenario where the cards face the Eagles in the NFC Championship game

They game-plan a lot in the preseason. Green's teams always do. It was evident against us and it was evident against KC.
That's why I didn't put too much stock in last week's outcome.

I'm picking AZ to win their division... I'm not impressed with any of the other schmoes in their div. Seattle is still weak on defense and their offense is pedestrian. STL wont be healthy at the end of the season and is getting older. Then theres the 69ers... HATED EM!!! They suck anyway.
Dallas in Tempe playing the last wild card spot?? It could happen.

Maybe the offense just sucks. Besides, I heard that KC's offensive line has gotten older and beat up.

AZ had a very nice defense last year. The outcome of the last game was disappointing, but not too surprising. They are very fast and active in the front seven. Their biggest weakness, IMO, is the CB position. I think DB was right, we could've hit Glenn all night.
This is why I'm alarmed, but not panicy about what happened last week. We didn't gameplan at all.....actually, we made things more difficult for us than we should have.....and we weren't blown out of the stadium. We were still in the game with a handicap.
Anyway, Az will be a decent team this year. I think they can win their division. Several posters have hit the nail on the head.....the biggest obstacle AZ has is the losing culture they've had for years. If they can overcome this......watch out.

While I do agree with many that Arizona has better talent then previous years and are going forward, I will take the other side.
By the time we play Arizona I expect Warner to either be on IR, or so beaten up he is not effective.
We will see, but Warner takes a beating, and is not very good at taking it imo.
No other QB on their roster will take them to the playoffs.

No other QB on their roster will take them to the playoffs.I think Warner will last the season. In his favor is a quick release and really good young WRs. If JJ Arrington is anywhere near what I think he can be as a rookie they have a shot in a very weak division.
