ok fellas, suppose thursday night Bledsoe gets his quarter and a half, and then Romo gets in the game, and he reverts back to his old self, careless with the football (seattle) or basically last year at this time, and basically stinks it up (ie) Hutchinson, now i know this is hypothetical, and i admit Romo is looking better this year, but if this were to happen, and its apparent according to BP that Henson "is not ready" what would u like to see done?

I would like to put Bledsoe in Knights armor so he won't get hurt.
We are all set.
Henson fans get over it. As Parcells clearly stated today, Henson is not Ready. Romo is poised to be our backup. And for that matter win football games if called on.

Nors, i wasnt implying to annoit Henson as the backup, as ive said all along, if we trotted out 3 new QB's this year, i wouldnt miss any of our current ones. something inside me hopes that we make some sort of trade or sign someone who is good enough to challenge Bledsoe or at least be a very capable backup ie. Volek, Kitna, etc etc.

No more, please! Let's talk about anything but who is going to sit the bench at the QB position! Enough! Lets talk about the third string punter, or something.

And CC, it seems to me that you want Romo to screw up because you dont want DARLING Drew getting beat out by an undrafted FA.

You bring up a football topic and I will address it.
If we needed to acquire another QB since Parcells doesn't think Henson is ready I personally would go with Tim Couch. Do I like him? No, not really. But of the candidates out there he is the least revolting.

Didnt he just sign some where? I thought he did anyways.

Hos, dont think that this is an unlikely scenario, Romo might be coming around, but i personally havent been convinced just yet, he still lolly pops some of his throws, and it wasnt but 2 weeks ago that i seen him make one of the worst interceptions ive ever seen (seattle)

Kitna would a wonderful backup option. He led Cinci to 9-7 i believe, and he was in the bus driver role. Volek probably will stay in Tennesse seeing as though McNair is getting up there in wear and tear. I think Tennesse is confident they have found their replacement. Volek looked sharp out there last year

I am not a big fan of his, but he's certainly better than any of the options I know about.

I don't want any of our former QBs back. Not a single solitary one of them. I'd much rather go in a different direction.

I just think it's funny that during the time of the season (preseason) when it's appropriate to talk about depth and back up positions, that it's become taboo.
That said, I think Romo will have a great game.
GO ROMO!!!

Romo isn't perfect, neither has anybody else been.
BUT the KEY here is that Romo puts those mistakes quickly behind him and then continues to make the plays. He moves on...just like the Pro that he is; the kid's a natural!
Best QB on the team if you ask me AND Parcells!

To be honest, I think I'd rather have Vinny. He really didn't play THAT bad last year, considering. If the D holds up and our running game is sound, I think he'd make a solid backup. That said, I'd rather stick with Romo and Henson as the backups.
But speaking of Couch, I think Parcells is trying to avoid doing to Henson what was done to Couch. JMO.

can you imagine if Bledsoe were to go down this thursday night, and be stuck with Romo and Henson? thats why ive maintained all along that either Romo or Henson needs to go, and a veteran backup needs to be brought in.

It's a valid point on what Parcells is trying to do. Perhaps you're right. I don't know. I don't believe there is one right way to bring up a QB and all the other ways are wrong. I do believe a QB develops faster by facing live ammo.
I hadn't thought about it but I liked Rohan Davey last year. He was released by New England. I don't think he's ready to start in the NFL either though.

I am not among the we're doomed if he goes down brigade. I think our young QBs can do fine if they have a chance.

Since people are throwing names out there what about Matt Schaub from Atl.? To be honest I don't know much about him but I know he played some solid pre season games last year and I have heard his name mentioned alot.

Schaub's name has been mentioned alot, but i doubt ATL would trade him at this point, he is there primary backup.

Yeah but do you think it would take more to get him than Volek or Kitna? Maybe not Kitna cause of his age which I dont know right off hand. But I would take either one of those before Schaub simply for starting exp. but if we were getting a new coach (a good one) I think Schaub would be a solid QB but I have thought that about alot of QBs.
