View Full Version : Bledsoe and Romo
Totally on fire tonight.
Moving the ball, points on the board. Line play improved and running the ball!

I think it was more JJ and the running game that got it all going...Drew and Tony just rode the wave. Also don't forget, this game meant nothing to Jax coming in. Their Defense was suspect at best.
I'm glad to see it, but nothing like a regular season game. It's going to be alot harder next week.

Total Preseason stats for all 4 games.
Bledsoe 29 completions, 49 attempts, 59% comp, 287 yards 2 TD 0 INT 89.4 QB Rating
Romo 23 completions, 37 attempts, 62% comp, 273 yards 1 TD 0 INT 93.6 QB Rating
People will say preseason games don't mean anything, but they certainly seemed to mean something the 1st game when everyone was freaking out over Bledsoe.

Henson did not have an int. the 1st call was int but after review it was ruled the tip of the ball hit the ground. No doubt not a great throw by Henson. As for Romo he did a decent job had a couple of bad throws himself. Lastly anyone who thinks that Romo is ready to take Bledsoe job must be smokining dope with Carter because no way Romo is near the level of Bledsoe

We can't see practice, but neither Henson or Romo ever really distinguished themselves during the games. Romo fans see what they want to see and Henson fans the same. We have two 3rd string QB's at this point.

I have pulled for both guys and there is no doubt neither is ready to be a strating QB in the NFL but yes I think if Romo is forced to start a game or 2 he could fill in. I don't think Parcells would turn him loose with the playbook but I think he could fill in over a short period. Felt the same about Jason Garrett as well

Your m.o.:
1) Find a controversial aspect of the team .... a switch to a different scheme, a battle between two players for a position on the team, the possible signing of a big-name free agent, etc.
2) See what the general consensus is.
3) Take a hard-line approach the other way.
4) Litter your posts with innuendo and subtle shots at the opposing side.
5) Meditate in your garden with your vegetables.
6) Loudly and unrelentingly proclaim victory on the occasion when your side wins.
I hope being right is enough to make it all worthwhile, Nors, because Tony Romo doesn't care about you. If you were stranded on the highway with a flat tire, I bet he would just drive on by ... and probably flip you off.

Nors asked me to put him on ignore last night and I obliged. And will keep him on, too, as it was his request.
Maybe if he asks a few more of you to do the same, it'll be a real sane season.
This place has become a lot more enjoyable since I put Nors on ignore (along with a few others). All he does is post the same thing over and over and over and over and over again, then insult you, but if you have the adacity to actually insult him back he cries about it.
Henson isn't ready. Yes, we know. It was expected (by most of us). It's not like you predicted lottery numbers or something. Get over yourself and move on.
I'd suggest everyone put Nors on ignore, that way I don't have to read all his posts that get quoted. This place would be a eutopia if that were to happen. Not to mention when I don't get annoyed I'm not an so it's better for everyone. :D

Nors chest thumps and crows in direct proportion to the amount of flak he receives. No more, no less. Do you really expect him to take insult after insult and not crow a little when he's right? He puts himself out there for ridicule, receives more than his fair share, and when he's right ... good for him. Thus far he's proven himself to be a better prognosticator than most.
And you can say it was obvious to most people that Henson has no business being on the field, but 9 months ago everyone was screaming for Henson to start regular season games, and those of us who said he wasn't ready and has no business being on the field were in the minority ... a very, very, very small minority at that. Now, all of a sudden, its become common knowledge.
Nothing Nors has ever said has been as ridiculous as the "Romo should have had 2 passes picked off tonight" comments I hear game after game. Its amazing, Romo has had no less than 9 or 10 "should have been pickoffs" this preseason that haven't been converted. Ugh, yeah, that doesn't happen.

I'm sorry, but no way is that the truth. He gets flak cuz of his chest thumping, not the other way around. That much is obvious.
He puts himself out there
The dude constantly throws all different kinds of crap against the wall, and when one piece of it finally sticks he acts like he's Ron Wolf's Jedi Master. And when you try to reason with him, he spin doctors or flat out makes stuff up. He is constantly claiming Hostile says things that Hostile has actually never said.
That's Nors' MO.

I said the minute Henson was signed not to expect anything for 3 or 4 years. I got a lot of flak for that, but I'm obviously right about it. Do you see me chest pumping and typing:
Romo #2: OBVIOUS
Henson #3: Not ready (Maybe in 2009?)
or other crap like that? No.
And whenever Nors is wrong (often) he won't admit it. He runs, hides, squeels, spin doctors, whatever he has to do to avoid admitting he was wrong. But chest thumps to no end in the rare occasion that he's right. I'm sorry, but that's annoying. The most annoying thing about it is I have no way of reaching through my monitor and strangling him. It's equivelant to watching a LB get run over by a RB 8 straight plays, and when the LB finally stops the RB for only a 2 yard gain, he pulls a Ray Lewis and acts like he just won the superbowl.
Nothing Nors has ever said has been as ridiculous as the "Romo should have had 2 passes picked off tonight"
No he just counts the INT that was overules as a negative against Henson. HE still chalks it down as an INT for Henson.
I've been even keel about both QBs for over a year, but it makes it very difficult to not want one guy to succeed just to shut the annoying little oompa loompa the hell up. I want Henson to succeed. I want Romo to succeed. I want ONE of them, ANY OF THE TWO, to make huge strides and become our QB for years to come and to lead us to mulitple superbowls. Nors wants Romo to beat out Henson just so he can chest thump. It doesn't even matter if Romo ever does anything in his career, as long as he beats out Henson, just so he can thump that chest.
Its amazing, Romo has had no less than 9 or 10 "should have been pickoffs" this preseason that haven't been converted. Ugh, yeah, that doesn't happen.
And that's the other side of the wheel. The people that would rather Romo fail so they can thump their chests instead of hoping he ends up our future star QB. I have people from both sides of that coin on my ignore list. Both of them make me sick to be honest with you. But only one of them types the same crap over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again for no other reason then to thump his own chest. And that annoying little oompa loompa is Nors, who is resting safely on my ignore list. Like I said, if not for all the people quoting him this place would be a eutopia for me.
JMO, and I don't think I'm alone with that opinion. I do, however, think you have much less people agreeing with your opinion on Nors.
Nors is nothing but a glorified troll. And eventhough he constantly spreads his own insults, he'll likely come in here complaining about me calling him an Oompa Loompa.

I'd put him on in a second, except that people go and respond to him and then I have to see the quote of what he wrote anyway. If people would stop feeding the troll I'd have him on ignore in a heartbeat. But they do feed him and then leave the crumbs all over the thread, so there is really no point in using the ignore function.

It was the Jags second string D - and our starting RB averaged 7 yards per carry while our starting QB ended the game with an 88% completion percentage and a QB rating of 153. About what you'd expect a good offense to do when faced with backups. If we had struggled against them I'd be concerned, but since we rolled over them like they weren't there I'm going to consider that a good sign.

Look in the mirror.
I talk football - some members need to put themselves on ignore!

a rational post - agreed on the Romo comments.
Same goes back to 3-4. 99% Fought it to the very end. Now its common knowledge and was expected.
