BP also said we will bring in some more kickers and that Glover will start at NT against SD.

Also said that he was very pleased with the play of Spears and sounded very, very encouraged by Thompson's hard work and progress. A real Cinderella story type. Was commenting on how far he's come so quickly and how hard he worked overtime at practices.
Sounded like Barber is certainly the odd man out if they don't go 4 RB.

Also didn't sound too high on Barber.

Said he was out of the rotation and needs to earn his way back.

Said they are taking TT to SD and he is a "threat".

I would hope we could keep Barber some how maybe he can go to the PS if he can get through waivers but as far as Thompson he deserved the spot because he went out and earned despite all the nay sayers

If Barber didn't play it wasn't Parcell's choice. He said all week he wanted to see him.

Bills been saying all along Glover would start in SD. just a conditioning thing about increasing fergys playing time too fast i think

If Barber's cut, big deal. Just pretend that Thompson was our 4th rounder.

Ken

Bill said he could have played Barber, but he didn't, and he would have left it open to injury and then "you guys would have questioned me."

Seems fishy to me. since when does Parcells care about the media?

I want to keep him. What about for next year?

This kid is a good player, solid in all aspects. I would hate to give up on him.

A-Train will likely NOT be around next year (2006 season). I think Barber could take his place.

Next year's RBs could easily be JJ, Barber, and Thompson, in whatever order you'd like.

Ferg's conditioning issues might be a qualifier, but La'Roi this summer has earned the start at NT.

Excellent news. This kid proved tonight he deserves a roster spot. Imagine a red zone package with JJ/TT in the backfield. Defense's wouldn't know who to put where.

I tell you what. I bet Glover shines at NT. The guy does not want to not start any game and wants to be in on the last play. I see him having a great year w/ his motor and rotation w/ Fergy. Being undersized has never been an issue for Glover that ive seen.

Fergy has his hands full. He better get a move on if he wants to be the starting NT. If you are right LTN on "Its the Parcells way" by playing the player who earns it then I say again. Fergy better get his motor running. Glover is lapping him already.

Glover can't handle 3-4 NT long term. If he's "starting" its for ego and or Fergi not 100%......

I keep Barber as well. Why give up on him so early? As Woods said, Thomas isn't likely here for the long term, and Barber can contribute at KR and RB when healthy. Keep him Bill.

I think we may see some mistake by Ware in the early going but at the same time I think we will see a lot of big plays from him. Tonight he ran past the runner on a delay because he was going after the QB and it lead to a big gainer for the jags but then on the next series Jacksonville runs a simular play and Ware snuffs it out with a fine play. I'm excited about Ware just hope we see more big plays than mistake.

Exactly. I could care less he gets a penalty or 2 a game. He more than makes up for them w/ the pure speed/sacks/disruption he does on just about every single play he is in on. The kid is a PHEONOM!!!!!

Did I just give him a nick-name?

Exactly what or how Ware was resposible for giving up 10 pts was unclear...I would imagine it was coverage, or certain resposibilities on a few running plays.

It's Parcells way of keeping all of Ware's kudos from going too his head, but at the same time making him the best player he can be.... ;)

I agree but I do think he will make some rookie mistakes along the way but will get better as he learns the in's and out's in the NFL

BP just said so! Said he's going to SD!!!

Well, TT's mission isn't over yet and the bottom of the roster will be churning for the rest of the season.

I know that I was one of the first to ask, could Tyson Thompson be a starter this season. Now, at the time I was just asking because JJ has never finished a 16 game NFL season, and neither has Thompson for that matter, but I just don't see how it can be so impossible to have 2 backs who are vary talented.

At this point in the season, and most importantly, I think that BP has a certain amount of trust for Tyson Thompson. And for a rookie, a rookie FA running back that means alot.

I will say when the reporters asked Bill if Thompson made the team there was no delay in his response he was very quick to say Thompson made the team and commended him on staying after practice every day with the RB coach and showing up at practice everyday and in the games. I think Barber hurt himself a lot with the fumbles both in training camp and in the games.

I don't know, maybe its a personal thing where I think that a person can grow up between grow up, grasp and make the most of their situation in their late teen's, early 20's, or (god willing) their early 30's.

Tyson Thompson's struggles won't be because of anyone else other than himself. He will never face a defender as great as he's faced in his past, perhaps even his recent present, and god forbiding his future than himself.

I wish him well, but more than anything, in light of his H.S. career and all the promised that he shouldered, I wish him the strength that brought him to making an NFL roster, and the respect of Bill Parcells, to continue.
