I am concerned with our special teams; specifically our kick-off coverage I have never seen us look so bad.

DeHaven has never had a quality ST unit, to my knowledge. I don't know why he is here (nothing personal, of course...)

They led the league in kickoff coverage last year, and most of those guys are back for another season... I'm sure they'll be just fine...

They used the preseason to look at at lot of guys, and most of 'em weren't worth a hammered crap... LOL...

Wasn't he the ST coach when we were handling Buffalo their butts in the early 90's? I would be interested to know how we have ranked the last few years under DeHaven vs how we ranked under Avezzano.

Both Buffalo's and San Francisco's STs were routinely ranked in the top-3 every year that he was the STs coach for those teams. He has an excellent track record of success as a STs coach but I do agree that he has been less than impressive since coming to Dallas.

It was a mistake to let Joe Avezzano go just as it was a mistake to retain Mike Zimmer. To quote Brother Michael, the guardian knight in "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade": "He chose poorly".

gonna have to do what Belichick does, play a few starters on kick off coverage.

I always thought that was Sir Galahad.

I don't know, there are a lot of new faces on the squad, and they sure didn't help much so far.

Avezzano was let go because he couldn't keep his mouth shut and would leak everything done at VR to the press.
