Anyone ever taken the Tour at Texas Stadium? Is it worth it or do they just show you the field and then try to sell you the pro shop?

I was on one two years ago. I think it was worth it. They show you some of the box seats but Jerry's was undergoing renovations at the time, but they said that his have TV's all over the room.

You get to get on the field and try some FG's or catching some TD passes.

If you have kids, they'll like it as well.

The tour begins and ends at the pro shop.

Nope, besides going to the games throughout the Season, I was able to walk on the field and got more access to Texas Stadium when the EA Madden Challenge was here on Nov. 16th.

I've taken the tour a few times and highly recommend it. I haven't been since they installed he new turf but I'm planning on going in December to see the Pokes whip up on the Deadskins and I'll definitely take the tour. :D

You also get to see the locker room which was pretty cool.

I took the tour in 1999, and it is well worth it. I only wish someone could have taken an overhead shot of the midfield star with me laying on it.

I usually don't buy anything from their pro shop. You can go around the Dallas area and find some of the same stuff for much cheaper.

I took the tour last year. It starts at the shop where you buy the tickets. Then in a group that usually isn't too large they took us up and showed us one of the boxes and got to see the view from the rich people's perspective.

Next they took us to the cowboy room which is a fairly large room behind one of the goalposts with large windows to see the field from the endzone. The guide constantly let us stop for photos. (They never stop being amazed at the loyalty cowboy fans have. The cowboys past and present, along with coaches and owner are like rock stars.) This room is aks the same room they hold major press conferences in and its the room where staubach announced his retirement and also Aikman.

The guide then took us down to the locker room. Unbelievable. If the first part of the tour wasn't worth it then this one room is. Seeing the names on the lockers, and actually sitting in the locker or in front of it . many photos taken in this room. No gear in the lockers as they bring that in on game day. also training room, rest rooms but the locker room was just amazing.

We then left the locker room by way of the tunnel. Yes the same tunnel the players take to comeout on the field. The thrill of exiting down the tunnel onto the field was incrediable.

Then the guide had some footballs and threw them to us and said we had 20 minutes to enjoy the field. I never ran so many patterns and ran and jumped like that. First the field which was put in a couple of years ago is nice. Comfortabel on the feet and knees. That is a far cry from the cement that was there before. Then took more pics and played coach on the sideline as I walked up and down the sideline doing my best Tom Landry imatation. my wife just parked herself onthe bench. I went over there too and I guess I did my Barry switzer at that point.

Cost of the tour was I belive $10/person Lasts for about an hour . Worth it especially if you are big cowboy fan. You'll feel like it's holy ground.

I took the tour 5 years ago too and I'm taking it again this year before the Eagles-Cowboys game. Like others said, they let you on the field, in the locker room, etc. The only problem you'll have is if there is rain in the forecast. If so, NFL rules for an outdoor stadium dictate that the field must be covered for the 48 hours prior to game time, and you won't be to see the star. They will pull the tarp back far enough for you to hang out in the end zone, though.

You need to go. The tour has been adequately described by many posters. I have gone several times and without a doubt, I would go back yearly to simply get a view of the locker rooms and be on the field. What a hoot. Take a good camera and get pictures on the star........... :)
