Parcells said in his PC 7 to 9 rookies could make the roster.

We know that they have made the team:

1. Ware

2. Spears

3. Burnett

4. Canty

5. Pettiti

6. Thompson

Leaving:

7. Barber

8. Ratliff

9. Beriault

10. Johnson

It sounded like we are keeping Barber and I'd say Beriault is headed for surgery and IR, so that leaves us with an either or both on Ratliff and Johnson.

I say Ratliff and Barber stay....Beriault on IR like you said.

I think Johnson is feeling the pinch right now considering the numbers.

I would say that hit the old nail on the head. Those nine rookies as far as I am concerned deserve to make it.

I hope all ten make the team either on the roster or on IR. I think all of them will be contributors in the future if they do make it.

Parcells really sounds excited when he talks about these rookies. He tempers his enthusiasm when he talks about individual players like Ware to keep their heads on straight but he just sounds like he glows when he talks about the group. Good news for the future. I think it makes it much more likely that Parcells sticks around longer (health permitting) just to see these guys develop. Another strong draft in Dallas next year and things could start looking good again.

I hear you there brother, and the Dallas Cowboys were also one of the most active teams in Free Agency this season, people seem to forget about that fact, we have Bledsoe, Ferguson, Rivera, Henry and A. Glenn playing for us too!

Don't forget RB AnthonyThomas. He's JJ's backup after all.

Well considering "starting" for Parcells includes the nickel packages, yes, 4 could be in that magic 15.

BZ - you are boxing yourself into a corner at OLB - there is no escaping the inevitable :)

Who had us drafting Spears, another DE and Burnett in our mock draft Nors?

You or me?;)

Good you are coming to my side....... OLB is in flux and upgrade.

I had Spears and hybrid Merriman on my radar. BeWare A PLEASANT SUPRISE.

Burnett? Kudo's - you saw lack of playmaking at OLB last year. With 3-4 move I predicted you were ahead of curve too? I'm too tired to archive but you were 4-3 and Howard camp.

I personally wanted Odell Thurman or Davis over Burnett but they both went off board in 1.

This is a very, very tenuos day for OLB on cut down day. Many dynamics in play.......

We have starting center and backup QB resolved today. Tomorrow will be very telling on what we are thinking on 3-4 OLB's.....

No, I wanted better players I did not care what scheme they fit. ;)

You said I was coming to agreement with you I'm not.

I said all along I wanted better players.

You only cared about scheme.

It took 3 drafts and FA signings to get players that could play the scheme, you would have had us in 2 years ago.

Try archiving where Parcells said he could not change it until now because he did not have the players.

Archieve the PC question about if the 3-4 scheme would cause more sacks and turnovers, and he said, "No, the scheme will not cause it, better players in the scheme will."

I deny I'm agreeing with you about drafting Burnett as me coming to your obsession.

I say PLAYERS.

You say SCHEME.

Just like the last 2 years.

What is funny is every word out of Parcells mouth has been PLAYERS over SCHEME, too.:D

all i can say is 9 out of those 10 were from this years draft, which i think will go down as the best draft in our history.

And what was I talking about?

PLAYERS.

Hypothetical what defense would be in if Ware would have gone before #11 and Spears was not there at #20?

There's no out - that thread speaks volumes. And I have 10 deep behind that.
Stop attacking from a position of weakness.

I am excited also. I just keep reminding myself of how good I thought David Lafleur would be. I was trying to block out the fact that he had a history of back problems when we drafted him. Man, why didn't we trade up for Tony Gonzalez..... :banghead:

Anyway, I just can't accept how good our draft looks. You know I actually walk around with a big smile on my face because I'm thinking of Demarcus Ware and Spears and Canty and Burnett and..... Whats wrong with me. I should be thinking of girls with less than adequate clothing. :D

There will be 4 defensive starters that someday will be Prp Bowlers - JMO

Petitti starting day 1 in the 6th?

Outstanding and we have not even talked Barber, BerryO and Brid Ratliff

Did you not know that Parcell's has chosen Thompson to make the team, and to go to the game in San Diego?
