Another team made a commitment to a young QB, and while he will STILL HAVE HIS GROWING PAINS, he is having some success today. Just keep it in mind.

how many TDs they have?

I know they are playing Houston, not exactly an outstanding defense, but Losman looks really good against them.

Has a lot to prove of course, but early returns are good.

dude he has been given the game by the houston off and def, and hit a wide open OL in the endzone for the only TD of the game, he had four chances and failed all four times, so in my eyes if houston could play some NFL ball, this game would be a run away

Hes pretty much passing at will against the Texans..They really havent punched it in and have been settling for field goals, but hes looked pretty good...Texans have been called offsides 4 or 5 times which means hes changing the snap count quite a bit...Poor texans their only highlight has been against us..lol..

He just threw a TD to an offensive lineman. (Nice catch by the lineman btw)....

and for the record, the Texans defense does not look very good. Losman has time to eat a sandwich back there, and when they do get any modicum of pressure on him, he has done a good job of avoiding the rush and getting rid of the ball.

No he doesn't i'm watching the game he has done nothign special, houston is really stinking it up, and it isnt helping giving them the ball on their side of the filed 3 out of the 5 times they've had the ball. houston just stinks

His passes have been ok, but what I do see is his ability to avoid the sack. This is why Buffalo chose him over Drew.

he looks good because houston sucks, jeez this guy has la lifetime to throw the ball, and when he does the CB seem lost. I mean even I can get on the field and throw the ball to an OL, and had he not been able to jump he would have overthrown him. he has shown me nothing

Wow, of course it would have been better if he had led them to TDs in all of those drives.

The bottom line is he looks good, not great. You must be watching a different game.

i'm watching davis fumble givin the ball at what the 30 JP got them a FG, i watched carr throw an INT, they get one first down, FG, i watch the houston D play sorry D, and it takes them all the way till the end of the first half with a wide open OL that he almsot missed to get a TD. No he doesnt look good. He looks like an average QB, who can disect a sorry D, but cant score.

13 of 18 for 143 yards a TD and no INTs.

I know it is Houston, but that is who has to play this week. What did you expect for him to look good against a different team that he is NOT playing.

This week...This game...right now...He looks good.

no this weak...this game.. houston stinks and if he couldnt put up those numbers then he woudl be a bust, he is playing average, he if he was so good then when you have the ball on your 30, you would score. Espically as patheitc the houston D is playing

Dude...you are over the top. I did not say he was great or he will have a gread season.

He could be throwing interceptions and incomplete passes left and right, but he is not.

thank you, the texans look like our D from last year, right now, and we had the habit of making the worse QB's look like probowlers, so come back to me when he plays against a D that actaully can stop somebody.

You dont get it do you. I fully acknowledge he has a lot to prove...I too want to see what he can do against a legit defense.

Today, given his opponent which he does not have control of...looks good.

Aside from that, David Carr is 3/8 for 23 yards and and 1 INT.

Is it safe to call him a bust if he doesn't improve this year?

Losman looks just fine. But we are less than three quarters into the first game of the season. Can we not jump from one extreme to another?

FWIW, he looks more like a quarterback worthy of the top pick than does David Carr, at least to this point. Dunno how much that means, but whatever.

he should have thrown and INT, the texan guy droped it, so please he looks like a regular guy on the field, the sad part Carr looks like a 6 round draft pick. this game sucks

Why? It's Buffalo, the only thing I care about is that we are their DADDY and have always owned them. Outside of that, they can go with whatever rookie they want. I just dont understand the fascination with Losman on this board.

I could care less how Losman does.

Unless you make this a J.P. Losman vs Marcus Spears and Julius Jones thread what does this have to do with us.

09-11-2005, 02:16 PM
It's because he was drafted where we traded the pick is all.

Nothing signals the start of a football season better than overreacting to the good and the bad and laying the foundation for the season in week one.

Tune in next week to hear a totally different agenda if your team lost this week and won in week two. Talk of the playoffs, Super Bowl, MVP's, all this can be yours.

It is a point of interest thing...nothing more.

You know their old QB was released and is now our QB. Their current QB backed up our current QB last year.

Nothing more nothing less. Not interested...cool. I am.

If you are suggesting that we shouldn't have made that trade - which I don't think you are - and picked Losman, then I don't agree. I like the fact we got JJ and then Spears and Ware this past June.

But yes, we should stay patient with young QBs - I've yet to give up totally on Romo. ;)

Whether the kid is great this season, his career...I don't know. Don't know that I care. I was responding to the thread and the point of my response was that he looks pretty good. He's playing within himself. Not making mistakes. Playing a nice, neat, efficient game.

Does it happen next week or beyond? Dunno. He might go into the shatter for all I know. But right now, he's doing well.

And aye, the overrations do run rampant here. One extreme or another.

Man, I don't think it's being anti-Cowboy to hope this kid does well. I like the way he's playing. This could perhaps be, dare I say, *gasp* .....a win-win deal?

Again, too early to say. Way too early. But you get the point. :)
