Yes, let's judge them on the first game.........Give them some time to develop!

Yeah, they showed so much promise in the preseason as well. :) I'm not judging them on the first game either, I'm just throwing it out there. They need to improve, in a BIG way.

You would have a point except for the fact they looked just as bad in the preseason. We have lots of work to do on ST.

No doubt this unit played poorly all day allowing SD to have great field position all day long. Thankfully Cortez was able to prevent 2 returns for TD by making the tackle

You and me both where is Joe Alvazano(spelling?) when you need him.

Todd France, who narrowly lost out to Bryant for the Bucs kicking job, and whom the Cowboys brought in for a look last Tuesday, remains unsigned.

Did anyone see the Arizona State / LSU game on Saturday? The kicker for ASU was putting the ball through the goal posts and into the bleachers on the kickoffs. I don't know if LSU returned any of the kickoffs.

Is that stadium at a higher altitude or does the kid just have a cannon leg?

Well, we better get him in here right away. Considering Cortez is leading our Special Teams unit in tackles right now, it's only a matter of time before he goes to the IR. Might as well have another tackling machine warmed up and ready to go.

Sad really.

BP flat out said this was one of his areas of concern....I see why. I hope we make some adjustments for next game because the last thing we need to do is allow the Foreskins good field position or free points from special teams...

Its not just the Kick coverage unit, but the KOR unit also was weak...
Seems like forever since we had a KO retuner who had decent instincts...

Its too bad Cortez hits harder then dat, but I am glad he was there for the TD saving tackles!

IMHO, its just a matter of time before Willie Pile starts at FS, and Keith Davis becomes a backup SS and full time special teams specialist to shore up two liabilities.

I'm not claiming that Davis is good, but he made a great hit on the next to last play to seperate McCardell from the ball. I listened to both the TV and radio broadcasts (yes, I have ADD), and both Aikman and Babe L. made the same comments about the TD it appeared Davis gave up earlier. They both blamed the lack of a bump off the line for not forcing the receiver to the safety (Davis). That left too much ground for him to cover. Since both Troy and Babe know a lot more than I do, I'll cut Davis a little slack.

It was Ware that did not bump him off of the line...that's one thing he's gotta do...he ran his route almost clean.

On a positive note, at least we're getting alot practice, that only means that the offence its doing its job putting together scoring drives.
