Tuned in halfway, but here is what I gathered:
Thinks this is the best shape Cowboys have been at cornerback for a long time. Proud of Henry's play. Aaron Glenn is a tremendous pickup too. Last time the Cowboys were this good, they had just signed Deion and Kevin Smith before the injury. The Cowboys have been cursed since then. Doesn't care whether in the 3-4 or 4-3, the corners are a huge strength!
The organization was never concerned about Keyshawn's play in preseason, but they were concerned about him coming back after surgery and that age.
Signed Peerless because it presented a rare opportunity for depth and they already knew the product.
The play at QB is what the Cowboys have been looking at for a long time. Very pleased with Bledsoe.
.....And the connection was just lost. They're trying to get him back.

Going to be an emotional exciting time next Monday for the Triplets induction. Jimmy Johnson and Barry Switzer are confirmed for the Ring of Honor induction. Trying to get Campo too.
And that's it. For anyone else who listened, is it just me, or does Jerry Jones sound very tired?

I believe he said that he was travelling by plane during the call. Hopefully it was just jet lag. But he didn't sound like himself.

OMG! Imagine if they let Barry say a few words on the mike...my God that would be something. Jerry will have that same worried smile he had after we beat the Steelers in the Super Bowl--"we did it baby, we did it our way!!"
Another interesting side note: how come Chan's not invited? Because he'd want to kick Aikman's teeth in, LOL?

I totally forgot about ol' Gailey. He didn't mention anything about him. That is odd that he left him out. Hell, Gailey was closer to bringing one last Super Bowl out of the Triplets than Switzer after the Jimmy Johnson talent left, and Campo with what he had left. I still think the Cowboys would have gone far in 1999 if not for the Irvin injury.

Tho he's very involved in the Cowboys, he's got a lot of irons in the fire and I imagine it takes alot out of him sometimes. Especially since he's getting a lil up in age.
BTW, for the person who asked, it was the Verizon commercial. I luv how they put the DC cheerleaders in the phone. Shows where Jerry's focus has been during his tenure as owner... :)

Chan is coaching at Georgia Tech - maybe he couldn't make it.
Between Switzer, Chan and Campo - Gailey was the best of the bunch.

I definitely agree with you, and if not for Irvin's injury, we never would have had to endure Campo's tenure as HC, because we were going places in '99.

One of my great laments as a Cowboys fan is the '99 season, no doubt. I was a little miffed at Aikman there at the end of his career if it's true that he helped force Chan out. I found it a bit hypocritical on his end since he actually enjoyed his 2 most prolific passing days in Chan's offense and he was all for it when it was clicking in '98. Then I think that Irvin's injury and all the subsequent WR injuries that year left him frustrated beyond belief. Jason Tucker making him look bad in the wild card game drove him over the edge I think, LOL.

You have to remember, Campo was with this group from the start. it's understandable that he should be there. But what about Turner and Wandstadt. I guess they mean more to their teams than Campo :lmao2:
j/k, Campo was an excellent defensive coach and coordinater.

Damn dbair, that's harsh. I think one was definitely head and shoulders above the other two. Hopefully he can continue to prove his coaching acumen this season at GA Tech, they're off to a good start.

I don't know, I think Pitt wouldn't mind losing Wanny for a few days right now, LOL. Campo was a good coordinator here, I'm not sure what happened in Cleveland. I think he only coaches the secondary now in Jacksonville.

Barry and Campo confirmed to ATTEND the ceremony for the triplets, not be inducted. Lord! That would be sacrilege.

Is Jimmy in the Ring? If not, will he have to wait until Jerr-uh is gone to get in? After all, he did win three Superbowls! I know, I know, Barry was sitting in the chair but it was Jimmy's team and scheme.
Call me when Chan starts ringing up NCAA championships and gets his own SuperBowl ring,,,, then I'll consider putting him in the same class as Barry.
