Said:
1-Brunell gives them a chance to win now
2-Stands by his prediction of superbowl for the skins if they can get consistent play from the qb position
3-Said Ramsey unlikely to be traded will likely play (sit) out his contract
4-When asked who could use him he said "Well look at Dallas, they replaced 41 year old VT with 37 year old DB" love that quote since DB is actually 33 and YOUNGER than Brunell
5-Said there was no excuse for the "brawl" on MNF not even high emotion, said that "Nobody played with more emotion than I did..."
What a true POS this guy is.

Theismann is standing up for his boy Gibbs, so you have to respect that. If I were JT, I'd also be desperately itching for a Washington rebirth. Problem is teams must have good receivers, a good pass rush, good secondary play, and good quarterbacking to truly excel in this league. Washington might be missing all of these things.

Theismann was on record saying how much Ramsey has improved and how he'll be a great QB for the Skins this year. This was at the end of the preseason. Now, suddenly, Brunell gives them the best chance to win?

[QUOTE=ravidubey]Theismann is standing up for his boy GibbsQUOTE]
This is true but if you are going to be a sports reporter/columnist you have to set loyalties aside and tell it like it is. ESPN does not pay this guy to be a cheerleader, he is paid for his "expert" commentary. Look at Troy, Irvin, Moose - they have been faulted as being critical of the boys when in reality they are doing what they are paid to do. Whatever credibility Theismann had is down the toilet IMO.

Come on guys, Theisman is the consummate professional and never lets his Redskin bias affect his thinking.
He was correct in his analysis way back in April, 1989 at the NFL draft when he said the Cowboys should have drafted Mandarich instead of Aikman and that the rest of the NFC East was relieved we passed on Mandarich to take, (the future HOFer and 3 time SB winner), Aikman.

I have to agree with Joe. Ramsey gives them 0% chance to win. Brunnel gives them at least.001%. lol
Really, how could he have watched that redskins game sunday, then go on and mention the skins and Super Bowl in the same sentence? Senility?

The big down fall for the skins is if Brunnel does play bad then what? Your 1st string QB now appears to want out of DC and the team will go through the season without a leader at the QB position. A Redskin loss this coming Monday could be a hugh factor in that team coming undone for the season.

A nice blast from the past.
Hit by LT ends Joe Theismann's NFL career
By Larry Schwartz
Special to ESPN.com
Nov. 18, 1985
New York Giants linebacker Lawrence Taylor has been on many highlight films, but this is one he wishes he didn't appear on. Washington Redskins quarterback Joe Theismann wishes it even more.
On a flea-flicker, the 36-year-old Theismann squirms away from linebacker Harry Carson, but the 243-pound Taylor, the Giants' most feared athlete, leaps and tackles the 198-pound quarterback from the rear. Theismann's right leg twists sideways beneath him as he goes down. (Always figured Joe would get taken from the "rear")
"Joe screamed and we got off as fast as we could," says Giants noseguard Jim Burt, who was on top of the pile, after the Redskins' 23-21 victory.
Theismann is taken to Arlington Hospital, where doctors operate on a compound multiple fracture of the right leg. He will never play again.
Oh the memories!!!
