Sun 10/2 @ Oakland (FOX)3:15 p.m.
Sun 10/9 Philadelphia (FOX)3:15 p.m.
Sun 10/16 N.Y. Giants (FOX)Noon
Sun 10/23 @ Seattle (FOX)3:05 p.m.
Sun 10/30 Arizona (FOX)Noon
Sun 11/6 BYE
Mon 11/14 @ Philadelphia (ABC)8:00 p.m.

We need to focus on SF for now, but just looking ahead we have a tough stretch ahead of us...this will be a good test.

~ Oak is not an easy game
~ Philly will be a battle
~ Giants are playing very well and beat us twice last year, so we better have a chip on our shoulder about these games
~ Seattle has a good offense, although I think we can shut it down...will be at this game!
~ AZ will be very hungry by this game
~ Then Philly again in Philly.

Put your seat buckles on nice and tight because in this stretch we will know what we have!

None of the games will be easy including SF

I'm a little worried about the bye myself, the rest we should win.

I'm worried about Philadelphia NYG and @Seattle (I think we can come out 2-1) that to me is the toughest 3 game stretch of the season. So much pressure to win the home divisional games ESPECIALLY after dropping our home divisional game against our "lock" divisional win.

If we can finish the first half of the season at 5-3 we will be in pretty good shape.

We need to beat SF, NY, Oakland or Seattle, Arizona.........Beat Philly we are in excellent shape.

anybody who thinks the nyg game is a throwaway is mistaking themselves NYG are very very close to us talent wise and we can't tell if they're better than us quite yet. The chargers game will be a real good test. I think these NYG games will be key to us making or not making the playoffs.

Washington faces the bye this week, if they can manage to escape without a loss, I think we can too.

All these games are going to be tough, even against San Fran.

See, I am thinking, was the Niners beating the Rams a fluke or was getting drilled by the Eagles a fluke, you never know.

Think about it. Last year we should have beat the Pittsburgh Steelers but "Elbow Gate" cost of the victory.

We end up going 6-10 and the Steelers would become one of the better teams last year.

After the MNF Debacle, im taking this thing one weekend at a time. If not, I may start counting my chickens before they hatch and end up having a Heart Attack at age 27....

I foolishly counted the Skins game as a win before the players even took the field and, seriously, I dont think I can handle another loss like that :p: .

Man no 42-3 blowout has been a fluke in the history of the national football league. The rams gave it up to the Cards last year, y'know the only team to drop losses to the niners. We had better be confident enough to think we can beat this crap squad, or we should be expecting a 4-12.

Sorry.
2 and 0 or not... the Gi-ain'ts still don't really scare me.
I think they're in for a dose of reality coming up here in the next few weeks.
Eli is a joke.
Stop Tiki = stop the Gints.

Every game is important....

However SF has to be more important do tot he teams we play after them.

The schedule is indeed favorable IF we play to our potential. The team that worries me the most is the Giants. Must be history that forces me to say this. They have always been a thorn in our side - even when we were VERY good & they were mere wannabes, they gave us a tough time. Just one of those teams that seems to have our number.

While still raw, Eli's mix of bad throws this season has a fair number of 'lasers' in the mix. The kid has it and at the speed his game is improving, by early next season, the g-men will be a force to be reckoned with. Wouldn't be at all surprised if we split with them this year, which we cannot afford to do.

If we are to be taken seriously as potential contenders, we must take BOTH games from them. Convincingly. Next season, it won't be near as easy.

after what I saw in the last 5 mins Monday night, every game this yr will be a major challenge for this team...

and the opening day win at San Diego doesnt look all that impressive either, SD was terrible against a bad Denver team that was blown out by the Dolphins one week earlier

The San Diego thing is true but then again these days in the NFL theres about 28 teams you could beat but then have to put an "asterisk" next to it because the week later that same team might lose to a team you didnt otherwise think much of.

And sure most of our games will be a challenge. We didnt suddenly morph into a top shelf football team. Upgrading talent alone isnt enough to do that. When alot of it is younger players, learning a new defensive scheme. Same with QB.. big improvement but it takes more than playing together for 60 or 120 minutes of real game action for these things to come together.

The toughest opponents we will face are Philly, New York, and KC. I would jump up and down if we went 3-2 in those games.

Folks, looking ahead just one game tells you things are going to be tough. Assuming (we all know what that word does) that we beat SF this weekend, we then go to Oakland. The Raiders are likely to be 0-3 coming off a road loss to Philly. They are going to be desperate for a win at home. That game will be tough and Moss will be motivated as always to whip us. I think Moss takes plays off during most games. Against the Cowboys he doesn't do that. He has the ability to raise an entire team up when he performs well and I will give us no better than an even chance to beat them.

Every game is tough. I think Monday night proved that.

We are simply not good enough where we can assume anything, but I am afraid we do.

Good post.

Very true. We aren't good enough yet.

let's not go assuming the Eagles will win their games either. as mentioned, they will have to face Moss and the Raiders also, and wouldn't Randy like to hang a couple TDs on Philly? The Skins i have no fear of - those miracle finishes only happen - well, in that rivalry they happen every year! :) But the Skins are a 5-11 team waiting to happen.
as for the Giants, they will be tough every year. to assume we'll sweep them is - well, you know what they say about assuming! their defense is showing a few cracks and their offense isn't up to speed just yet, but i also have to figure they'll only be better next year.

I think it is important to win those three home games and get one win on the road. If we can do that, we will be fine.

I'm saying it will be a good test for the NYG
