Initially, I wasn't sold on the Bledsoe signing, but he's the best we've had under center in a long, long time.

I am very impressed with Drew. Normally I'm tense when the Qb drops back to pass (quincy, hutch, vinny etc...are responsible for this paranoia), but now, I actually look forward to seeing him drop back, set up and throw the ball.

It's the strangest feeling

That was almost a 400 yard game for Drew. Most impressive - he made some mistakes and kept coming back. Impressive comeback in a game that looked lost mid first half.

I said it last 2 years - this kid will win Dallas fans over. I saw him 40 - 50 times in his days here in NE/Buff - He is no fluke 20 year old #1 overall draft pick. No fluke he's now #7 overall in passing yards passing Montana tonight.

Super Bowl? We can get our defense in order we might be in that mix!

He has won me over. People give him a hard time for standing in the pocket so much, but this guy is tough! I love that he wants to win the game too. You can tell he wants to be the guy in crunch time (like Keyshawn).

It's such a change of pace to the losers we've had for the last 5 years

I'm excited as the next guy, but we ain't going to no Super Bowl. This was a 49ers team that barely won anything last year, and Dallas barely squeaked out a victory. The Cowboys blew a bonafide win last week, and beat a Chargers team without their best receiving threat. I want to see a few more games before I pronounce any Playoffs in this team's future.

Right now some people with the Buffalo Bills have to be very pissed off. Whether Henson is our future or not. Or if we need to draft our QB of the future he will very lucky to learn on the sidelines behind Bledsoe.

Bledsoe deserves game MVP.

Bus driver my butt. Bledsoe is a QB that can carry a team and win games. He has carried Dallas to 2 wins already.

He aint no statue either. He moved around in and outta the pocket alot and he does feel pressure.

The way he throws. His arm strength might be tops in the NFL. The man has a gun.

If we make the right moves next season Bledsoe is a QB that can win us 1 or 2 Super Bowls.

I wouldnt go that far just yet, but ya it's nice to be scoring TD's for a change and leaving the kicker on the bench.

Thats happened 2 out of 3 games now.. 4 and 5 offensive TD's and no FG's.

Seems like the last number of years when we could even manage to get 3 offensive TD's in a game it was cause for a parade.

Great post - The Buffalo crew is in cricket mode. Losman was heinous again today.

Bledsoe took back a game that had gotten away. Great win for us today.....

Bledsoe is going to win offensive player of the week 2 of the first 3 weeks of the season. Little worried about his arm tiring as we go through the season, but the offensive unit is better than it has been in at least 7 years.

Great Observation! Drew is only 5 TDs behind Steve Young for #17 all time, and after that, there are only 23 TDs left to the top 10:

Washington loss or not, 2 out of 3 nailbiters ain't bad!

He might. Brady had more yards, but no TDs, except he had that great 4th quarter comeback too. McNabb had similar stats. Cadillac had another great day but no TDs. Steve Smith put up some big numbers but they lost. No one really stands out in the OPOW, he may just win.

With the two picks he might not win, but he did rush for one, and there were at least 3 plays (2 on the same drive) that should have been TDs: Keyshawn stopped at the 1, Terry Glenn inexplicably stopping on the 58 yard reception, and another Keyshawn at the 1.

Good points.

Glenn stopping had me shaking my head.

The one pick for the Td was horrible. But the other was just a brilliant play by Parrish.

I can't complain one bit about Drew Bledsoe this year.

Originally a Pats fan (and still at heart), I've been an avid Bledsoe supporter for years on the Bills message boards (I've been banned several times!) They hate me but for all the "JP Losman is the future buttholes" I TOLD YOU SO!!

Just saw Culpepper's numbers. They're going to pick him. Great numbers and also sentimental value because he's been so dang awful the last few weeks. It's a Comeback Player and Player of the Week all in one.

2 INTs in 3 games is decent. There will always be deflected INTs, and with 100 attempts, hey, one was just awful, but it's par for the course (of MVP!)

bigneil
09-25-2005, 07:21 PM
Credit Culpepper - I can't imagine stepping back to throw the deep ball knowing if it's picked you'll have 0 TDs 9 INTs on the year!

Anyone ever notice that whenever they show Vicks stats, they always add his rushing stats. I have yet to see Bledoses rushing TD mentioned on any stat line.

By the way, he passed Unitas today as well.

We all know Drew was released in favor of JP Losman in Buffalo. They said they needed someone who didn't make mistakes and that their 6 straight wins last year (4 on the road in a 5 game span) were "in spite of" Drew. Isn't it hilarious that Drew had more yards today (361) than JP Losman has all season (352)? And that Drew has as many rushing TDs (1) as JP has passing TDs (1)? The Buffoons in Buffalo's logic was: "Brady and Roethesberger did it, why not JP?"

Bledsoe has been nothing short of amazing through the first three games, IMO. Granted, he didn't lead a game-winning drive last week when he had the chance, but then again, he did have that completion to Crayton only to have it broken up.

But that is neither here nor there. Bledsoe's never been known as a come-from-behind guy, so it's been nice seeing him lead two fourth-quarter comebacks so early in the season. He looks so comfortable throwing downfield, is difficult to bring down, etc. And I can't complain at all about his decision making so far. Everyone makes mistakes but he has kept his to a minimum.

bigneil
09-25-2005, 07:52 PM
Drew really has been a come-from-behind guy - I'm a New England native and he always seemed to deliver. The "broken finger game" was perhaps his best. He now has 29 4th quarter come backs in his career!

Drew is now 8-2 in his last 10 NFL games, and has won 6 straight road games. Over that span Drew has 17 TDs 8 INT.

How about Witten with 85 yards - all seemingly in the first quarter? Drew had a couple TD drives that seemed to take just a few seconds.

That would be 98 season? He had back to back come from behind wins versus Bills, Dolphins - with a broken finger. I was at both those games. This kid is not folding and with Parcells - we are poised at a deep playoff run!

bigneil
09-25-2005, 08:12 PM
Yes 1998 - and I do remember the back-to-back last second wins - one was to Coates if not both. 4-2 in his last 6 playoff games (4-3 lifetime). Washington State over #1 Washington in college. Off the bench when Brady went down (3 for 3 with a TD in his first drive). The man is a champion.

bigneil
09-25-2005, 08:14 PM
In the Super Bowl Drew had 2 TDs in the first quarter. The Pats lost by 14 because Desmond Howard had 2 kickoff returns. The Packers were a 14 point favorite and won by 14. Not exactly a choke. Yes Drew had 4 picks, but that's what happens in the final game - what do you have to lose? Gannon had 5. Drew had 21 points in the Super Bowl and lost. Brady had 20 in his first and won.

Is it 29?

I remember in the late 90's he was holding the active comeback record - I wonder if Manning surpassed him, or is even close?

Having witnessed his early career, I've never doubted Drew can lead a comeback - including one based on his own picks- but he has been stymied so much these past few years by his own flaws that his ability to come from behind has been largely forgotten, I think.

It looks to me like Bill's "retraining" of Bledsoe is having some success. He's not consistently holding the ball forever now..tho he still is perhaps too loathe to give up on the possibility of making a play, tho I'm still leery of a multi sack game down the line. In a critical game.

But I've got zero gripes with DB so far; in fact, left to his own devices, I think there would have been more than a 13 point cushion late in the Skins game last week...there was so little pressure he couldl have put up many more had the calls been more dynamic..

o thinkcsp
We shall see.

BTW, welcome to the board.
