Forgive me but I haven't been on the board to much since the win. Of course I see all the FS posts so this is what I want to know. Was Henry just flat out smoked or was there supposed to be deep help from Davis?

Both. He was smoked and Davis also didn't help out.
But our pass rush didn't help much on that play either. ;)

The phrase "oh no, not again." best explains how bad that pass made me feel. I don't know how pile will play over the stretch, but it can't be bad enough to justify KD staying in the game as the starting FS. But yeah, Henry got smoked.

Bingo!!! I had a great view of that play...coming right at me. Henry got smoked, but Davis bit BIG TIME on the play action. I think Henry expected Davis to be there.
After that play...Davis sat for a while I think...remember seeing Pile a lot.

This is correct. Henry did a poor job of chicken fighting at the line and completely missed the release. Mean time, Davis was nowhere to be seen in the coverage. Guess he didn't want to be on ESPN either.

Davis did not get back as he should have which is why Parcells was b!tching him out on the dieline then took him out of the game and replaced him with Pile. I'm not saying Henry did not have a bad day by his own accounts he would agree with you but on that play Davis was to provide the deep cover.

What Davis was doing/thinking on that play is mind boggling. There was not another player around for 20 yards. I could see if he bit on an underneath route....but there was nothing. It was plain and simple terrible recognition.
He should at least have had inside help from the coverage I saw,Davis was looking into the backfield instead of playing FS. :bang2:

Henry got roasted. It happens. He saved us more than once in SD.
Glenn and RW are the ones that cost us the foreskin game. They got smoked 2x in a row.
I'm curious as to why San Fran didn't try to go deep the rest of the game. I mean everyone should know our weakness by now. They hit on it once already. Did Pile cover us up back there? or is San Fran that dumb?

Is it me or did Henry look a little wierd covering on that play? It's like he never got into a full stride. He seemed confused. Davis has seemed lost in the SF and SD games @ times. I hope this gets corrected. Moss/Porter/Gabriel/Witted is looking very scary right now.
