View Full Version : Will we see Peerless this week...
Clearly, our WR are having issues with getting open. It was widely apparent in the 1st half of the Oak game. How about some speed? Will we finally see Peerless this week? I doubt it because the Boys aren't talking about it. It would be a nice wrinkle against Philly, but I am sure it ain't gonna happen.

Well he might try to go 4 Wide with JJ in the backfield and no TE, to spread out the eagles D, if not i doubt we will see him. Our WR are doing real well, and trust me i saw him an ATL, say what you want about Mich Vick, Price wasnt ever open. Not much is going to change here
4 wide would be nice. Doubt it though. Really they need to give the guy an opportunity. At this point, he hasn't had a fair shake or a chance to make an impact.
Still not impressed with Vick as a QB. Overrated.

once again, this is why i never like picking him up..
who od we replace. YOu keep asking about him, who do you bench?
you want to play a guy who hasnt been here for the offseason, or TC, for a guy who just got here. Price will play, when needed, right now he's not needed. What we need is offenseive offensive excution, and a rookie in our playbook, is not going to help.
You dont have to be, when they make the playoffs again, and (if we're not there) go to the SB, He still wont impress you. Crtics are always here.

It is a tough decision to sit someone, I agree. That is the dilema that you face. I really like Crayton, Glenn, & KJ. But I wish we could sit Terrance Copper. But who would replace him on ST?
Yes Atl will make the playoffs, but due to Vick's inability to be an effective QB, they will never make it to the SB. He is a glorified RB and that is it. It's all opinions though.... :) I could be eating crow, you just never know.

I think we will -- Price sat to make room for Ratliff -- from what BP has said it looks like Ratliff totally screwed his ST assignments -- BP said a rookie miss 4 assignments on the kick return unit -- Ratliff is reported to be the only rookie who played on that unit -- BP also said an entire team might miss 4 assignments in a season (meaning they looked to block the wrong guy). Be very surprised if Ratliff plays this week despite his OK DL play.

Price would be nice but what good would he be if the OLINE continues to stink up the joint. Our offense has more pressing needs bigger then Price. IT ALL STARTS UP FRONT. Can Price play OLINE? NO!!!! Our WR's are playing well when Drew has time to get them the ball... OLINE needs to show up...PERIOD!!!

"WRs having issues getting open" is certainly no reason to turn to Price, at least not if you look a the last several years of his career. Seems like you could be getting more of the same.
Effective running and consistent use of the TE would (it seems to me) be the best way to open up things for the WRs.
Ahhh ... what do I know ...

I think HIM and Crayton should rotate.....Or do something to get him in the game.
I have a good feeling about this Peerless guy, we need to give him some play time.

Didnt Barber play on STs?
Couldn't he have been the rookie who made the errors?
Sounds like we're going to see JJ, TT, and A-Train this week.
Maybe it was MB3 who made the mistakes last week.

actually I didnt see them having much trouble getting open, the problem was the OL gave Bledsoe very little time on most plays to set his feet and find them...we also had a couple of very easy ones dropped, and a TD pass wiped out by a penalty

To me, the strength of that Eagles defense is the pass defense. I would probably think about the running game a bit more then activating Price but who knows.

For all the talent he is supposed to have he sure doesn't seem to be grasping the brass ring.

To get the brass ring you 1st have to be given the oppertunity to do so.

Draft status won't earn it. College reputation won't earn it. You have to prove to the men who make the roster lineups that you are one of the players that deserves to be out there in uniform on Sunday. If he hasn't proven that, is it their fault?

This is kinda like someone fresh out of college with a degree in their chosen profession. They can't get the job they want because all the good jobs "want XX years of experience". They can't get experience because they can't get the job which requires the experience in the first place.
How is Price supposed to prove anything without being on the field? Was that boneheaded throw from Bledsoe in the Redskins game his chance to prove something? That ain't much of a chance if you ask me.

I don't think that is the case I think it is more of a numbers game trying to place 45 men on the roster to fill all needs for a particular game. I will say when Price gets his chance he has to make the most of it

thats why they ahve training program,s thats why you do low level jobs, right now price is doing a low level job. Practice, untill the coaches feel that Crayton, Glenn Or Key, arent good enough to stay in front of Price, Price will be on te bench. we are not a passing team, and really. who cares if this guy plays or not. our problem isnt at WR. Every game at least 1 of our WR has shone up big. Remeber it was crayton who got us our TD. You dony bench a guy for some FA pickup just because he' makes X amount of moeny, or because he did this X amount of years ago. Our WR crop is fine, our QB and RB is fine, we need better play out of OL and then we wouldnt be asking this stupid question

We both know that in the film sessions he has taken over for the coaches because he spots things better than they do.

At #4 the staff has to weigh him at #4 or someone else who can also contribute on ST. Getting on the field is up to him, not the coaches. He will have to earn it.

Getting on the field has a little more to do with the coaches, once he is on the field it is all on him to make plays if he does he will get more chances if he don't he won't.

To this point he has not got the looks. There has to be a reason. Either he has not passed Crayton or he cannot contribute on ST thus the 45 man limit is keeping him off the field.
Trust me, if he had Terrell Owens talent he'd be active and in the game plans. To this point he obviously isn't impressing them anough to give him the shot.

I agree I think his talent is equal to some of the other starting WR on the team but I think it is a matter of filling needs within the 45 man game day roster.

You obviously know what you're talking about, because you think Michael Vick is a great passing Quarterback. We aren't a passing team? What are we then, the Atlanta Falcons? Now that is a real rushing team. Dallas isn't, no matter how bad Purcells wants it to be. We don't have to bench Crayton, bench one of our four running backs. Barber or Thompson sounds good to me.
You're not the coach, so don't tell me what this team needs. Don't say this is a stupid question either. Just because YOU might think it's stupid, doesn't make it stupid. For instance I might think you're stupid, doesn't make it so.
And let me give you a little insight into the real world. In the real world, in most cases, there is no "training program". Low level jobs don't pay the bills. It's sink or swim.

I hope we give this guy a real shot to play a couple games before teh season is out. I really used to like him as a player, and I think he can still do it. Would be a shame to let him go after this season and have him blow up on another team.
