View Full Version : Keith Davis serves no purpose on our Squad

Except for maybe ST and backup to Roy Roy
- It is beyond absurd that he starts week in and out...- They should rotate Glen and Pile - Why can I see this as well as most of you and not Bill.

I hate to be one of "those" guys that rips apart his own team, but Ill have to make an exception here. With the growing pains of a young defense, I hate to single out anybody. But Keith Davis makes it hard for me not to. Week by week hes constantly getting beat down the field in a position where he is supposed to be our cover "safety". Constantly biting on the play action looking for the big hit ala Roy Williams. He accounts for most of the deep balls thrown against us and its hard for teams to not take notice and advantage of this. Its like last year with our cornerback situation. They have no reason to fear him yet. While I do believe he can get better, its just hard to see it now. With the whole "win now" atmosphere, you'd think they would bring in someone with alittle more experience. Heck, I would have been fine with Izell Reese. Atleast teams knew who he was. Just venting. Im done for today.
Its heinous after totally upgrading this team to allow FS to hold this team hostage.
Mystifying to me that we left $5M on the cap plate and let this key position jeopardize this season.

What's this?!?!?! Another negative post by ScottCase?!?!
Wow! I didn't see that one coming!
The title would be better if it read:

Its not in my nature to agree with you Nors but who should/could the Cowboys have signed?
No one would have ever said this at the begining of the season, that god forbid that Keith Davis gets hurt this year. After all the improvements that this team has made this offseason how can he be the linch pin of this defense?
Safe to say that FS isn't what's wrong with this 2-2 team but it is the weakest positon that we have on the team.

We could have signed Dwight Smith, we could have signed another corner and moved AH to FS, we could have traded up and got Brodney Poole or Josh Bullocks in the draft, we could have signed Jerome Woods away from the Chiefs.
There is plenty we could have done. If we signed/drafted a true ballhawking FS we wouldnt see all these negative posts about KD or the secondary. There my venting is done.
i know a lot of people on here didn't like lynn scott .........but i think he was a tad bit better fs than keith davis.
jmo
p.s. he was a great special teams player as well.

Our defense played twice as good after Woody got hurt and Tony Dixon was benched. I was hoping Lynn or Berialut won the FS job but they didnt.
Dwight Smith

Draft - we are now hung to dry at safety....

Yep - bad bad job by BP - he rolled the dice and is now getting torn apart for it. Which is why a coach should not pick the Groceries , unless his name is Jimmy Johnson.

The mods have said to give this Badattitude thing a rest. It really is annoying - I have never attacked anyone here or cursed.

Nope. You just sing the same toon over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over.
I'd rather deal with the cursing and attacks then you're crap.

We don't crack on the developmentally disabled here, Troll.
And speaking of "developmental", that's exactly what Davis is.
A first year starter just finished the first quarter of his season.
If by year's end, he's taking Tony Dixon angles or still chasing cars, let him go back to specials. Anyway, it's way too premature to slag him off as worthless.
It's on Bill and Jerry that Davis's position took low priority this offseason, and the secondary on a whole was upgraded at a pretty price bringing in Henry and Glenn. They (and Roy) might need to cover for Keith for awhile.

As a matter of fact, I am.
Tears of laughter - watching the mods move your tripe to the "Opinion Zone" as fast as you can write it. :lmao:
BTW Troll. Sure sign of one of your species is the constant starting of new threads instead of contributing to existing ones.
Take my word for it - whatever disassociated incoherence comes into your head as the underworked neurons struggle to make a normal connection is not worthy of separate threads.
They could all by easily limped together under "YAWN".

Sooner or later, you'll figure out that your gloom and doom, Chicken Little act wil not make you popular in here...
It would be one thing if you established a reputation for solid analysis by mixing in some POSITIVE evaluations, but I guess you can't find anything positive worth mentioning...
You have screamed "the sky is falling" so many times now, that people are just tuning you out...
You're the coworker that nobody on the job likes, simply because he's ALWAYS griping about the job, the boss, the weather, the traffic, his wife, his kids, his dog, taxes... if you have a problem with that, look to your own deficiencies, and do something about it...
Simply put, you're a joyless PITA... I'm thankful that I'm not as relentlessly negative, as cynical as you are...

Memo to self-- never let any school age family members enroll at a Catholic school...

He didn't call you badattitude, hoss, he said you HAD a bad attitude...
He is, of course, right about that... your attitude SUCKS...
And as for it being annoying to you, that seems fair, since you're annoying to the rest of us... it's what they call karma...
Finally, you say you "never attacked anyone here", in the same thread where you insinuated one of your antagonists rode the "short bus" to school... how very hypocritical of you...

It's on Bill and Jerry that Davis's position took low priority this offseason,
Actually, I don't think it was a low priority for them, I just think there were too many other holes to plug, and opportunities to plug them came up first... and even though they had cap room to go after a FS after plugging those other holes, by the time they were done there wasn't much left in the FS market...
Apparently, Scotty thinks the Cowboys should have been able to fix EVERYTHING, in one offseason...
He seems to also think that a) the Cowboys didn't talk to ANY of the better free agent free safeties, or b) that the Cowboys can have any free agent they desire... of course, he doesn't have the first freaking clue what the Cowboys tried to do when it comes to the FS situation...
No, in true SC fashion, he just immediately assumes the worst... he's the kind of guy who upon hearing he'd hit the lottery for 100 million, would start ranting about all the taxes he's gonna have to pay...

Rack can be so sarcastically cynical (when the mood's on him) that he can make you look like a freakin' Pollyanna...
The difference is, that's not his entire posting game... he can also be funny, and quite insightful about the game... and yeah, from time to time he can be pretty optimistic too...
Me and Rack, we've had our run-ins, but he's the kind of guy I'd purely love to share a pitcher of beer with... with you, I'd buy a pitcher, but only to pour it on you...

Oh, you like cheap beer?? :D
Truth is, if you and me were to bend the elbow together at some bar, it would probably be a considerable amount of Jack Daniels (Green Label, if you please) that got consumed by your friendly local Bear...
Seriously, you and me get nose to nose from time to time, but there has never been a moment when I didn't consider you a buddy... you're just too much like me in a lot of ways, and that's bound to lead to friction...
Friends of mind don't stay friends long if they get upset by the occasional argument, LOL...
