Literally!

'Skins top pick faces league fine...The NFL is reportedly considering fining Washington FS Sean Taylor, the 5th player selected at the 2005 draft, after he left early from the league's mandatory rookie symposium in San Diego late last month. Taylor claimed he had to return to Miami to clean out an apartment from which he had been evicted, but actually went to Washington. The Redskins reportedly hustled him back to San Diego, but Taylor could still face up to a $10,000 fine from the NFL. Meanwhile, Taylor, who fired his agent just two days after the draft is still without representation.

~giving high fives to Danny Boy Snyder~

you got yourself a real peice of work there

This outa be good when it comes time for him to report to camp.

Old news buddy. Taylor will get it done. He may miss a few days of camp, but it will get done in plenty of time.

Yes old news...and nothing really big IMO...however it still does not look good for his character at the time.
He will get his fine and move on...it is up to him to make this just a small blip on his career if he gets his act together.

What are you his imaginary agent, buddy?

I think he's gonna be a helluva player for the skins. But to be wildazzen before you've even signed your first NFL contract is a headscratcher.

Good luck with all of that.

No doubt about that...he's got some SERIOUS talent. Between Taylor, Portis, and Gibbs, we're all a little giddy around here. :D

Bottom line....that kid can flat out play!

So could Cecil Collins, Dexter Manley, Darrell Russell, Ray Carruth...

While Taylor may not come close to approaching the crimes and indescresions of the afore mentioned players, being able to 'flat out play' is not the bottom line.

I'll say it again, I think Taylor will be one hell of a football player but there's more to being able to play football in the NFL then just being to 'flat out play'.

Being a Professional Football play is more than just playing football and cashin' checks.

That's why the NFL holds those mandatory rookie symposium that Taylor escaped from.

now, spin that

Comparing him to Roy Williams was waaaayyy premature.

Bet you would be even happier if he would sign an agent and get on with signing a contract. The Wash Post also mentioned LaVar is headed to an expedited grievance co./mediator hearing over his missing bonus. How is that working out for you? Joe wanted all his guys signed and ready for the start of camp, SOP for Joe. Between these two doodad problems I bet he is up late at nights.

Taylor is a player but first he has to get on the field. He will get a really fat playbook to learn then.

I am starting to hear pads and helmets cracking again Saladin. Good to be back.

This will be a good year for Dallas. I am not sure about the wins and losses but the team will be much improved. Second year under the Bill, second year with the system. Plus Joe Gibbs is back and that makes the annual home and away fun again.

Man I would absolutely HATE to be a Skins fan.

Every year, potential, potential, potential....and then.....failure.

For the love of God, if it weren't for the Redskins, Dave Campo would have been 9-31.

I think we've had our own share of idiots that could' flat out play'.

However, he has yet to do anything. Anything.

He needs to prove himself 1st and we have all seen highly touted people fall on their face. Happens all the time.

Personally I think he will at least be good and has a chance to be great. However, I'm not going to pass out trophies until the season is over.

Injuries and exhibiting behavior that is self defeating also cuts careers short.

This is only a small warning flag. Put enough together and it spells trouble. I'm more concerned with his lying to the NFL than cutting class.

Old news buddy. Taylor will get it done. He may miss a few days of camp, but it will get done in plenty of time. The only argument skins fans could salvage about danny not taking Jr. was his attitude. Well after watching him after the draft, reading several articles, him missing practice because he got a pie in his face, and now the skip out on the meeting? The skins better make it a priority to get this kids head on straight, because they sacrificed a gamechanger for him...

As much as I hate to say this: Those who live in glass houses, you know the rest.

We have definetly had one or two players that could also fit into the category also don't you think Sal?

I think that when Taylor gets his head out of the sand, he's gonna be a serious player in the league. Just think back to when you were 21 or 22 and think how you would have reacted if you were in his shoes and going to make some serious cash. I know the rebuttal is gonna be :But they're supposed to be professionals, but he is still a kid.

You're preaching to the choir cw. Maybe I should have added some Cowboy players. But it was a Redskin we're talking about so...

My point was it takes so much more than talent to excell at this level. I mentioned professionalism because this isn't a hobby anymore (unless your Bo). There is so much more focus and preparation required in the NFL and that's why so many of the great college can't miss blue chippers can't hang.

Larimore, Lett, ____, _____ the list is pretty long. But think of how good they wold have been if they had approached and embraced their professions the way they did their partying.

Yeah, their kids. But this is a mans game and if you can hang then you can make it if not somebody else will gladly take your place.

b.t.w. I was pretty wild when I was that age but I knew that I had to get up, go to work and perform the next day. That means a little more when you're only making 25K a year and if you lose your job then its back to sleeping in the car.

There is nothing I hate more than defending a redskin but don't you think that being the 5th selection by the 'Skins Taylor is going to get alot more slack than a 4th or 5th rounder would have? I'm sure that Taylor realizes that. I'm not saying that it is right, but it is just the nature of the beast.

As far as him performing that isn't even a question, I'm sure when it's game time he's gonna be focused on the task at hand much to my dismay. :(

Yeah, he's got more rope than the lower round picks but all I'm saying is that it was a knuckle head thing to do.

And trust me, speaking from plenty of experience, I know a knuckhead when I see one. ;)

I had 4 then 5 years in the Army Reserves accured. I was doing my 2nd and 3rd year of college that I was paying for out of my own pocket.

I was very responsible person. I would say I was mature but that be a lie because I am still just a big kid :D
