Me personally, I like the meteor theory:

as much as i hate to say this, i hope Wash wins, time to bury the Eagles while there is a chance, the Eagles are still probably the most talented team in the division, i like our chances more if it came down between the Giants, Redskins and us.
Washington, they honestly don't scare me.
Philly in their house still does and I want to see them tagged with another loss.
I'm not so sure Philly should be scaring me, though. It seems like they're down 28 points every week and division champs usually don't have games where they give up 49 points.

Personally i think a Cowboys fan should never root for the Redskins but i guess there can be exceptions, like if it helps the Cowboys. Here i dont know yet, i'll decide later this week but one thing i do know is i hope both teams get banged up especially Philly since we get them in 2 weeks.

This is one of those games where I hope they just beat up on each other.
In the games that I have watched of the Eagles, they just haven't been impressive in any of them.
Part of me agrees about kicking the Eagles while they are down....part of me wants the Skins put up on the wall....
Heck, I'll stick with the first thing that I said....I hope they just beat each other up.

Id almost say Washington, but they will probably lose. I think they got exposed today. Call it coming out flat, I call it finally getting a team to come out and bury them. We should have killed them.
Sorry, you can have an off day, but the amount of big plays they gave up, and how horrendous their offense looked, this is what Washington is all about I think. No one in their right mind would dare think Washington really was that good. I give them credit in 1 regard, they came out and found ways to win. But you can't get lucky all the time. Washington Philly probably gives everyone a good idea weather Philly is really done, or if Washington is for real, and really did just come out flat

I live in Philly and there is not freaking way i can root for the eagles to win this game. I am listening to our home town radio now and loving it. I live near the river and i hear splashes of fans jumping off bridges. I should go there and coax more in.

I cannot root for either, but I enjoy reading the meltdown on ES after a loss. Philly fans can barely form words on their message board, esp. non-cuss words. I also can listen to it on the radio.
Skins losing an NFC East game at home would be big in such a tight division.

I thought about it like that but I think no matter what, the Eagles will hang around, win or lose. So I'd rather see the Skins lose. The Skins just came off a terrible defeat against the Giants. Another loss lowers them to a .500 record, 1-2 in the division, and all of a sudden they crash back to reality. They have that same confidence problem the Cowboys had with too many losing seasons, so I think they would be easy to put in their graves early with another loss. The Eagles will hang around like pesky gnats the entire seasons so might as well at least eliminate one NFC East contender early, while we can. :)

Never, ever, never, never ever, forever never ever, will I root for the skins against anybody, anywhere, in anything. If the skins were playing Cuba, I'd be a red flag waving Cuban supporter. I've just never felt the Eagles were worthy of hatred. I hate the skins.

10-31-2005, 08:07 AM
I hate to root for either team but I have to pull for Philly in this one. If they lose they are 4-4 and know a loss vs us the following week might put them out of the race for the division title and in this division maybe even the playofs. They have more weaknesses than I thought but they are still a very good team and cannot see them losing 3 in a row. Anything is possible but I would like Washington to finally go to last place in the division, where most felt they would be since week one.

Don't care-- we will beat both of these good but seriously flawed teams in their home stadiums. The Giants are much tougher than either of them. If anything, the biggest threats to Dallas' success lies outside the division with Carolina and Atlanta both 5-2 and the weakness of the NFC West and last week's hideous loss giving 5-2 Seattle a major schedule advantage.

the Cowboys are superior to both teams - but i'd like to see the reigning champs buried as soon as possible. even if the hated 'skins are supplying one of the coffin nails.
I don't care who wins, but I wouldn't be too saddened to see one or two "nagging" injuries to key players on each team, say a couple of good hammies for each team.

Folks, it does not matter who wins this game. The Eagles will be laying for us regardless after the pain we brought them in our house. They will want to get a little payback. At this point in time, the Cowboys are in a position to control our own destiny. We take care of our own business and "those people" will be looking up at us on top of the division at the end of the season.

Splash! There goes another one...
But I hope Washington loses, simply because they have a win over us, and they need to get buried in the division, plus this could signal the end of Washington because they have Oakland and San Diego coming up. We are 2-1 in the division, if Washington loses, they will fall to 1-2, while the Eagles will be 1-1.

No meteors, please. I'll be in the stadium (wearing my blue and silver, of course).
I usually passively pull for the Eagles in this game, but I haven't decided which way I'm going to go yet. Once I get to FedEx, the sight of all the annoying Skins fans is too much to bear and I start pulling for an embarrasing rout.
Is it mean to say I'll be rooting for injuries?

i'd rather have the skins win. because I think the eagles are the better team, and it would help us more to have them get a division loss. the skins imo will fall apart on their own. skins beating the eagles could be the just the jab they need, so we can come finish them off with the knockout blow. if the eagles lose the next two they are in bigtime trouble of evne making the playoffs.

No doubt I hope Philly wins big...
1) I would not want the Boys facing a desperate Eagles team at home coming off 2 straight losses. Much rather have the Eagles feeling chipper about themselves and then smack them in the mouth (again).
2) After that Giants beat down, another demoralizing loss for the Skins to a division rival might be just enough to send them into a season ending tailspin.

My first thought was the Redskins since they pose less of a threat to us and as someone mentioned, we need to bury Philly while we still can, but Hostile brought up a very good point...
We hold the tiebreaker over the Eagles right now, and if they were to lose to the Skins, that would be 2 straight losses going into the game against the Cowboys. These Eagles are way too talented to lose 3 straight.
Plus, I hate the Skins more.. Go Eagles.

I want to see the "class of the NFC" get beat and see a little more dirt kicked on them. The only caveat to this would be IF McNabb were lost for the season then I would hope for a Skin victory.

Good thinking, and gotta agree, but the thought of the Skins taking two consecutive beatings from a division rival is just so appealing.
And whoever wins, I am hoping it's the ultimate Pyrrhic Victory. ;)

Hey, look at it this way, one of them will definitely lose and fall to 4-4. :) I've gone back and forth about this. The Giants get the 49ers next week so, no matter what happens, they'll probably be 7-2 at out in front. Could have been us if we didn't blow three games that we should have won.

Well, we could all hope for the "Black Sunday" scenario, perhaps McQuire will eat one too many brats causing a chain reaction with all the hot air in Theismann's empty head, add one open flame or spark and BOOM!
If someone has to win, I'd prefer Philly to not be coming off two straight losses going into MNF.

You want Washington to win because Philly is still Philly. I don't care what anyone says. They have been there before and they know how to win when the chips are down. Philly has to be put away and no fire can remain within them. I want Philly's morale decimated by the time we play them. I don't want them to start a new resurgence by beating the Redskins.

At the beginning of the season or when your still not sure who is the biggest threat: You always pull for the home team. Division road wins are huge and you don't want one of your division oppenents to get a leg up. Best case senario is for Was NY and Phila to all go 2-2 against eachother.
Now when it comes to actually rooting for one of them, that's another case entirely. I live in South Jersey. Went to my sister's superbowl party last year. Not being a big football fan she innocently suggested that I root for the eagles.
I explained that since I would not root for the eagles against AL QUIDA, I'm cetainly not rooting for them against the Patriots.
I will probably watch the game and root for INJURED RESERVE. I'll also throw in a few cheers for career ending.

Which ever team loses this game,, their season is done. At 4-4,, they would need to go 6-2 the rest of the way to have a chance at a playoff,, neither team is good enough to go 6-2. And since i totally hate the redskins,, I hope they lose,, and lose big, again. Maybe 100-0 that would be nice.

I don't see how anyone could hate the Redskins more than the Eagles. The Redskin fans are at least tame (normal) and are very much like Cowboy fans. If you had a crowd of Redskin and Cowboy fans and they were not wearing their team colors, you wouldn't be able to tell them apart. However, the same is not true of Eagle and Cowboy fans. Eagle fans are frickin thugs and meatheads. They annoy the heck out of me. When you step off the plan in Philly, you feel like you are about to enter a prison. The weather, fans and look of the city just bothers you. You can't even watch a Cowboy game in Philly because their fans are thugs. I don't know who has least classy fans in the NFL: Eagle or Raider fans?

11-01-2005, 10:45 PM
I hate them both and hope they beat each other up. But from a logical point of view and what's best for the Cowboys. The Eagles need to beat the Skins. It all comes down to fact we've already beaten Eagles and if we somehow end up tied with them we come out ahead. On other hand, we've lost to the Skins and if we should end up tied with them down the road, then they come out ahead of us. At this stage of season we can't afford to think we can beat either one at home (hope we can though) so we need to take care of business now. We can't let any NFL East team (and only Skins in position to do this to us) sweep us nor gain any advantage, so Eagles got to beat the Skins up. Go Eagles. (Hope I never have to say that again).

Easy. Eagles fans! Who booed Santa Claus? Who booed Destiny's Child? Who cheered when Michael Irvin almost died (I'm exaggerating, I know)? Who made fun of Joe Jurevicious' dead infant son?
At least Raiders fans pretend to be stupid barbarian jerks. They take off that make-up and stupid spikes when they get home. Eagles fans do not pretend. You ever see them wearing costumes? No. The stupidity is natural.

This is a tough one for me since I hate them both so much. from a logical point of view, the Eagles are in worse shape if they lose. But a division loss for the skins is big as well- especially since we can only get a split with them this year. So reluctantly I have to very slightly come down onthe side of the birds. I really think they are going to get fried down the road. We beat them the week after and its all good.
