He's certainly capable since he came into the league at FS, but we paid too much $$ for him to be a FS, and he's doing just fine at CB.

What?!?! This is ridiculous. Newman has been stout, and Henry has been the one that gets picked on. And he's done a hell of a job stopping the stuff teams throw at him. I like what Glenn has done as the 3rd CB, but no way do I want him out there on an island.
Henry and Newman are playing great, yes thanks to a good pass rush, but we're able to blitz mroe and keep RW in the box because they have been so good in man to man coverage. Don't change what has worked all this time

To quote the great Doctor Evil;
"How 'bout no! Ya crazy dutch !"
But seriously, why would you take a corner, playing at a pro-bowl level, and move him to FS? That does not make sense. (I'm using the chewbacca defense)
No, go back to the drawing board.
LOL WV,
Cowboys19, that was discussed on this board at length during training camp/preseason.

why move him to fs when hes playing well enough to make the pro bowl at CB? CB is way more important, maybe we should think about glenn at FS and get another young speedy CB in the draft next year 2nd day.

Exactly! God it is almost painful sometimes to read these post.....Lets take are best CB and move him to safety and start Glenn who has been a bust at this point to corner?

Yes. Let's move a guy who plays one of the toughest, most difficult positions to fill to a position that is easy to fill.
There is a reason why CBs make huge bucks and FS make squat.

He is the best CB in the NFL......and who takes his spot? Glenn?
Better not fix it.....if it is not broken.

A quality CB is too hard to come by, Henry needs to stay right where he is

yeah thats a great idea, and hey why dont we move Larry Allen to place kicker...with his strength and huge legs I bet he can nail fg's from 65 yds!
or since everyone is convinced Tyson Thompson is the 2nd coming of Eric Dickerson, why dont we move Henry to FS and Julius Jones to CB!!!

you're like the 100th Cowboy fan who's come up with this thought, sorry, but it's an extremely old proposition, and with the money Henry's making, no way would they settle for a very good FS, when they can have a very good CB

I'd definately make the argument that Henry isn't the best CB in the NFL, hes not even the best CB that plays for us. I think hes a good starting calibur CB, but Newman is better. Other teams show that by throwing Henry's way a lot more than they do Newmans.

I agree Newman is the better of the 2 but Henry is still a quality CB who is doing a great job for the Cowboys. He is a CB not a FS and this is not back yard football or some video game.

no, not this season. But it is a very good idea. If we can get another quality CB, thru draft, FA, yes that would be a very good idea.

the good news for me is that the "competition" between newman and henry is a horserace too close to call. henry has delivered beyond expectations and he's enhanced any perceptions of Dallas as a physically tough defense - regardless of opponents being more inclined to test him rather than T-New.
as for his not being "the best" CB in the NFL? who cares? it's not a good reason to move him to FS.
so far he's plenty good enough.

Then why not just draft a FS instead of moving a guy out of his natural position?

Maybe if we went back in time and signed Deion of the 90's

Take a corner who is playing outstanding football to this point - something that isn't the easiest thing to find - and move him to free safety?

He's too short to play LB, yes I know Dat is short also. IMO Roy needs too lose about 10 - 15 lbs and get some quickness back. Go back and watch the Boom video and notice how much quicker he was compared to now.

They were small linebackers.
You did not say that Roy should not be considered because he would be a "converted safety". You said he should not be considered because of his size.
Tricky...tricky...tricky.... And on October 31st.
