If Bledsoe is named league MVP would that offset his need to win a SB to make the HOF? How many think he is the leading candidate right now?

No, he's not the leading candidate right now. He's behind at least Shaun Alexander, Steve Smith, Edgerrin James, Ladanian Tomlinson and Carson Palmer.

Steve Smith, Jake Plummer and Eli/Tiki.

There's still some ways to go but I'd reckon Palmer is leading at the moment.

I think you could easily throw Ben Roethlisberger into this discussion as well. He's 18-1 right now. His team is 5-2 and 2-0 in the division. His QB rating is 112, easily the highest of any starting QB.

Comeback Player of the Year? Do you have to be injured previously to get that award?

Steve Smith Hands down. The man is a beast coming off a major leg injury. Best Rec in the league right now and has no other real wr threat on his team and he draws mostly Double Teams. Without him Carolina has probably 1 win at best.

Not nec. injured. You could have missed some time due to Retirement or contract disputes or even just plain had a bad previous year.

When do they post All Pro vote standings? I remember in 2002 Drew and Favre were leading around the half-way point. People will be tentative to name Drew MVP this year until he makes the playoffs due to the perception that he "collapsed" in 2002 (only 1859 yards in that half).

Bingo...exact names that came to my head...especially Palmer, LT (will hurt because of record), and Alexander.

What a crazy day that would be. A Cincinnati Bengal named league MVP????
