A few of those guys could be elsewhere come 2006, huh?
Tough to get a good overall picture without roster bonuses and signing bonuses factored in.
I know LA and Ellis have bonuses due in the spring. LA might be ripe for a restructuring.
Singleton is probably gone.
Glover in the last year of his deal.
Nothing too serious in my opinion. Pretty reasonable for the most part.

Probably not many. Which ones would you get rid of and why?

Glover in the last year of his deal? Uhoh he is having a good year which makes the decision way tougher. Might depend on pepper if we resign him or not. Flo MAY be gone if we get a young OT and tucker proves himself capable of starting. Ellis is staying, al is a definite gone, and I think next year may be larry allens last.

I don't know the media guys told us all off-season that Glover and Ellis would be gone after the year because they didn't fit the 3-4. I'd hate to lose either of them.

2006 is the last year of Glover's deal.

ah ok that makes things a lot easier. Guess NT is gonna be drafted either 06 or 07, unless pepper makes things happen.

It all depends on how close Dallas is to the top this year. If 2006 is the Super Bowl year, then:
Flozell might be a candidate for a restructure;
Glover stays, with either a restructure, or simply gets paid;
Allen, Bledsoe, and Ellis play out their contracts;
Singleton either resructures significantly, or he is gone;
Glenn and Ferguson play their contracts out;
Rivera and henry play their contracts;
Nguyen might renegotiate;
Keyshawn plays his contract;Williams and Glenn play their contract;
and, Romo keeps his mouth shut because he knows he isn't worth 900k.

Why would next year be larrys last year Heiro???

Glover has earned his pay more than anyone in that last.
Talk about a cinderella story. Nobody thought he could survive in the 3-4. He's not only surviving but he's just as disruptive as he was in the 4-3.

I said may. Much as I would love to, we certainly cant keep the guy forever and hes already 34. I wouldnt mind keeping him until his contract is out if he can still play for all of it. Whether he can or not will only be seen thru time. He is making an awful lot of money at this stage in his career though.

I think he has a big roster bonus due as well.
When do Ellis and Flozells contracts end?
Adams - 2007. If he was cut, I believe it'd be a $4 million cap hit. His total cap hit for next year is $7 million (I think).
Ellis - 2009

Looks like Ellis plays his contract out(although a few years may be as backup to Canty :D ). Flozell may very well be gone after this year, we never know what could happen. Will have to see how he recovers, and how well Tucker progresses.

I don't think he does.
He's had big salaries the past few years, and got a big bonus up front.

Well, I can't find a link anywhere. I guess you can not believe me if you like, but when we are discussing it next spring, remember this conversation.
His salaries drop, but I am almost positive he had roster bonuses upcoming (possibly the next two years)
Anguillidae had the information, that is where I first saw it.

$2 million roster bonus on April 1 reportedly.
We have to go into Draft hunting a massive stud NT - Glover is a great soldier and doing great this year but the clock is ticking on him. I was all over keeping Glover knowing he could play both schemes. Skeptical on Ellis but he's handling the new rotation just fine. I can see Ellis up to 290 and a solid 3-4 DE for years to come.
I can see Glover not on next years team at that Cap hit.

Singleton would be on my cut list for next year, especially if Burnett/Fujita pick up the pace.
Als likely has played his last Cowboy game
Fujita, Burnett are better, younger, bigger and cheaper.

Besides Kris Jenkins, I've always seen Glover as the best DT in the game. He's a great football player. He looks pretty small. You don't see anyone in the game as quick off the ball as him. That's his best asset. When that starts to fade, he might start to as well.

Possible, but since its the last year of the deal, I'd be surprised if they don't keep him even if the cap hit is high. Its not like this team is scrambling to find cap room. Heck, he might even get extended with a more cap friendly deal.
I still think he is the team's best lineman. With so much nickel being played these days, he'll get his snaps.
I agree on NT. I haven't really like the depth there all year and it is a critical component. Glover has performed admirably there in spurts, but I still think it'd be a disaster asking him to be a full time NT.

I can't see us using a high pick on a NT when Ferguson just got $9,000,000 in signing bonus. He'd better be able to play and play well there for at least a few more years.
Alshermond?
Definitely an odd name. Better than LaVonya Quintelle though....no wonder he does drugs.
Bledsoe's middle name is McQueen.

No, not a high pick....but a pick. Ferg was a 7th, I think. Maybe its Pepper, that sure would be nice.

I dont think we take a pick on another NT while pepper is still in the wings. Parcells obviously sees something he likes to keep him on the team when he doesnteven play. so NT isnt really an issue for me this year unless Ngata were to fall.

I'm with you on that. Maybe a low-mid round guy like Anthony Bryant of Alabama last year... A massive widebody anchor type.
