but your gonna get 5-7 carries this game.

Just like last year agianst the ravens, JJ came in and played the entire game just about. With it suippose to rain, you can bet heavily who's getting the ball. yes he had an ankle sprain but i fully beilive he was held out just for this game. This is the game that can really spark us to win these 3 games in 11 days. A divsion win can go a long way.

MBIII you have played well in JJ absence, you did just what were drafted for, but JJ loves primtime in the second hald of the season, and it's his time to shine.

I'd rather have MB3 on every third down that's longer than 2 yards because I have a lot more confidence he'll actually catch the ball.

Looks like he either didn't hear you or chose not to respond.

I don't know anything, but I wouldn't be surprised to see the carries be more like 60-40.

60 for Jones, 40 for others.

Jones - 20 carries
MB3 - 10 carries
TT -7 carries

I think that's close, I'm seeing:

Jones 20-25
MB3 5-10
TT 0-5

If we carry 37 times...that means the game is going well, and I'd be really happy with that mix..

If we carry the ball 40 times its a dead solid lock.

Has Parcells addressed this at all ?

Or hinted about how many carries for each.

Not yet and chances are he won't. I think he will have to see how Jones is doing in the game.

I'd like to see Julius get 20 - 25 touches (carries and receptions), Barber get 15 or so touches and if there is anything left maybe TT can get in there for a play or two. I don't want us to give the ball to Julius 28 times and have Barber only get 5 carries. I think that's counterproductive in both the short and long term.

All JJ has really ever played has been mostly in the second half of the season. I think a lot of people are putting more hope in JJ than he may deserve. He played great for a few games last year and hasn't really been as good this year. There are countless backs (A-Train for one) that have been very good for one or two seasons that fade away could JJ be one of these? With the injuries he has had if he has another one this or next year I'd say he is a flash in the pan if he can stay healthy he has a chance. I think the outlook for him is bleak IMO

I watched the games, I saw what passed for run blocking. JJ was just fine, getting yards when there was no hole. In the first game where our O line did a decent job and started opening holes JJ had 72 yards at halftime. Unfortunately that's the game where he got hurt. Julius will be fine when he gets back and will either run for a ton of yards or open up the passing game with his presence, because it seems that teams have laid off the run a bit the past few games and worked to shut down our passing game - probably because they weren't quite as nervous about the running game with Barber and TT carrying the load.

Mittens, I think you will see Marion more than you'd like. And Marion has earned his carries too.

i can't see JJ getting too many carries his first game back - Barber may actually end up getting the plurality. Jones will be brought back slowly IMO. I'll call it Barber 18 carries, Julius 14, Tyson 4.

I think Bills going to be cautius with JJ the first game back.

Id expect to see something like

JJ 15-18
MB3 11-13
Tyson 2-4

This will keep them al fresh for the 3 games in 11 days and help JJ come back slowly.

And around week 13 JJ will go back to full time starter but MB3 will still get about 8 carries at that point with a few passes and full time 3rd down duties

First game back from injury last year JJ got 30+ carries in 3 straight games.

I don't think BP is going to "ease" him back in.

True, but last year we didn't have anyone else to hand the ball to. That's why Parcells went out and drafted a guy like Barber, who could take some of the load and not force Julius into 30+ carry games. I think JJ will get his 20 or so, but I don't think he's going to see 30 carries any time soon.

Does it matter? Dargon has already informed us how it's going to be.

But being as this is a divsion game on the road, agianst an inspired team, the more experinced player will get thebulk of carries, remeber JJ has been under the primelight4 times now in his career and has 3 100+ yard games, and even won the game on the road aginst a tough oppenet last year. JJ knows how ot get it done, not downing Barber, but as far as experince and primetime, JJ has it over Barber, which is why i think he'll get more carries

I can see MBIII getting one series per half and a lot of third down work. Julius will get most of the rest of the work with Tyson Thompson coming in and getting a few reps in relief after Julius rips off a big run.

I think MBIII is going to be the 3rd down back and play at least one series in each half. He could have anywhere from 4-5 carries up to 15 or 20. If he's getting it done, BP will call his number.

It might take JJ awhile to get the conditioning back in his legs after the high ankle sprain. This is different than last year because his injury was to his shoulder blade and his legs were fine.

I expect Barber and JJ will split the carries and TT will get thrown a few too.

If Julius screws up any blocking assignments while shaking off rust, expect a whole lot more of MB3.

I don't think that will be the case. I have the feeling we will see Barber more than JJ, in this upcoming game.

And why would we expect him to do that? He didn't blow many as a rookie coming in midway through the season, why would anyone expect him to start now after missing 4 games?

well according to Parcells in his press conferences he said people should get used to seeing all 3 backs in games. Unlike last year when Julius came back we really didn't have any options at that position. Boy its sure feels nice to have that luxury now.
