If you could choose where to spend th money next sesaon, which one would you spend it on?
I truly think that if Alexander is available in free agency, that Parcells will choose to go after him, which would kill all the TO speculation. Can't have both.

I love Alexanders talent but we'd have to give up HUGE :money: to get him and in no way shape form or fashion do I want TO in Dallas.

Is that a trick question? They haven't signed him yet. He probably wouldn't sign there anyway, unless he is franchised.

If it is between those two, obviously Alexander. But I don't think our running backs are the problem. We haven't had a great run blocking offenesive line in many years. We need to get some young, talented, athletic offensive linemen, that can block to the second level, are consistant and can pull and lead screen plays.
Oh and a top notch OL coach would also do good.

I very much doubt ether one will be wareing cowboy blue next year!
Think about it, why sign Alexander - huge money and with the stable of backs we have, it's not a need. N.O. to T.O. We will have other areas that Bill will identify and go after, I think we do not need to tie up the money or the headaches that would come with those two. - Hope Bill see's it the same way.

I agree with the others here. Why would we shell out big money for Alexander? We have talent at RB already. Parcells doesn't really buy into the one RB carries the load theory. He would rather use three good ones. I don't see it. Offensive lineman, I can see.
Neither. We've got JJ, who isn't Alexander, but is a better alternative than throwing free agent $$$ at alexander. If we are going to throw FA money at something, we need to throw it at the offensive line.

Seattle is working on a deal with Alexander.

I'm a Kool Aid drinker too, but lets face it none of our backs compare with Alexander. He and Tomlinson are head and shoulders above the rest of the league. That being said, I really doubt we would leverage our cap to get Alexander. If we were gonna spend the money I'd take Alexander over T.O. any day. Why would Seattle not use the franchise tag on him next year?
Our backs aren't elite, but they are serviceable. Don't be surprised if later down the line that Thompson doesn't replace Jones/Barber as our primary back. At this point neither Jones nor Barber are threats to take it to the house on a long breakaway run. This HAS to change, or they need to be replaced.

No way Alexander is available, and I am not ready to give up on our backs yet.

Having an Elite back is not necessary to win a Super Bowl. Just ask New England. They do have a very servicable back though.

I'd call Dillon better then servicable but still, I do agree with your general conclusions.

They won't frnchise him because they can't in the 1 year contract they gave him to replace the tag they put a provision agreeing not to frnchise or transition tag him this coming year. But he has said he wants to stay in seattle they will get a deal done

With TO on the filed, our current RBs will look like Alexander because the defense will have to respect him.

Sorry im' noy so high on alexander as otehr are, did you know he has 15 total TD's aginst the likes of ARZ( twice) STL(twice) and Houston. and he has 2 TD's agast the like of Dal, Jac, and another team (top 15 D)
He's a good player, but his stats are way inflated, i would have nieter on my team, Draft a WR, and our RB's are just fine.

fully agree, to win a SB to win games period, you need more than elite players at every postion, because in the end it ends up backfiring (dallas in the 90's)

Hands down, LeCharles Bentley is the Free agent I want...
With a center of his caliber the running game would improve dramatically....
My 2nd choice would be an elite field goal kicker....
If we had a great kicker we would be 8-1 this year....
If memmory serves correct the jerk that kicks for Philly blew 2 games this year.....

This is kind of like asking someone if would rather cut off your arm or become better looking! Tough choice!

I can't think of a WR that I'd spend that kind of money on.
I'd much rather get OL and D help with what money we have.

We don't need a RB and we don't want T.O....we'll look at the OL and LB and FS positions first....then we'll look at WR.

If I had my choice I would rather have LT than Alexander. LT is by far the most complete back in the game today.
But I think our backs will be fine once we get some o-line help. I think we should start seeing some better results from our running game this year when Crayton comes back.

I like Julius, but unless he end this season like he did last year, then I wouldn't mind adding Alexander. I do think Alexander is over-rated, but he's durable, and Jones isn't.
TO on the other hand is a ticking time bomb. How many bad games from Drew Bledsoe can he handle? I do believe that he'll play great for whatever team he plays for next year just to prove philly wrong, but he's not worth the risk.
