If so, how come we haven't?

If we lose another game because of our kicker, i'm gonna :banghead:

He's now eligible

I thought he was an under rated kicker.

Inside 40 Cundiff was outstanding

That Monday night Giant game will define his career.

Per Dale, Parcells was not enamored with Cundiff's kickoffs. Bruce DeHaven disagreed with him.

I won't be surprised if he isn't brought back.

And he is with Sushinam's?

And he is with Sushinam's?I don't know. I haven't heard one way or the other on him.

I think Parcells wanted Rackers next year if you want to know the truth. That's out the window.

Has Suisham kicked a FG over 25 yards yet? I wouldn't mind seeing what he has from distance before bringing back Cundiff.

Possibly with 2 games in the next 6 days, BP is reluctant to change anything -- he would want to attend a workout to see Cundiff kicking - he might just not have time for that right now.

BP has been mentioning the tight schedule these weeks since pre-season -- not to sound cold but he did "lose" a preparation day Monday -- so he's now fitting in another day of work.

Suisham hasn't done anything bad yet -- and the next two games are at home -- a pretty kicker friendly stadium. BP may just be hoping that nothing happens to make him deal with the kicking situation until after Thursday.

One thing is for sure though -- you give BP extra time off -- and his mind turns to roster churning.

I just feel that the position we are in, with the type of offense and gameplan we run, a solid kicker is essential.

Sorry, Suisham does not fall into the category of solid.

Cundiff missed a few, but he hit a few too. I thought this year would have been his breakout season.

Suisham is kicking fine.

All this love for Cundiff tells you how desperate we've been for a kicker. He was a decent to good kicker, but by no means Mr. Automatic. The Monday Night game was his best performance by far, but he didn't replicate that every week. You could almost count on the guy to miss his first attempt in a game, sort of like me always needing to take a mulligan on the first tee.

Cundiff won't be back in Dallas unless Suisham is injured or blows a few kicks in the same game. Parcells was trying to replace him for at least the last two seasons. If Bryant wasn't injured late in camp, he'd still be the Cowboys kicker.

I strongly disagree with the notion BP didn't like Cundiff.

When he rides guy and gives them grief he likes them.
He never even said Cortez's or Shuisam's name.

The current kickoff's are not reaching the 10 yard line far too often.
Cundiff was pushed by BP to get better but he was already solid.
The fact we had no real challenger to Cundiff prior to his injury tells me BP liked him a lot.

When a guy has sat out over half a season it would be risky bringing him in.
I could see him getting signed in the off-season.

the thing we are missing is what the new kicker (I'm not even trying to spell his name) is doing in practice. For all we know he could be nailing 55 yard field goals each day in practice. BP sees him every day, not just in the games. I would think if the kid couldn't hit a field goal longer than 25 yards that BP would have invested the time to do something about it. My guess is he is kicking fairly well in practice and the real question is how he will handle pressure. Unless we are signing a kicker now :laugh2:

there must be a reason Parcells graded Suisham ahead of Todd France, who was pretty good for Philly, and chose not to pick him up when he was released

Suisham must be tearing it up in practice because he sure isn't during games.

His kickoffs as a rule have been pretty weak. And the couple of short FG's he has kicked looked pretty shaky to me.

Cundiff, though no Jan Stenerud, would be logical choice at this point if Parcells wanted to waver on Suisham at all.

I would hope that Bill wouldn't wait until this kicker melts down and costs us a game so I'm guessing there is more there than has met the eye during games.
