View Full Version : Sit Drew!

If drew suffered any kind of concussion in Sundays game, I say we sit him for the Thanksgiving game. This Denver D is a very good pass rushing team with their front 4. If he is dinged up going in, he will be injured by the time its over. This is NOT a must win game for us. I would rather have a healthy drew down the stretch for our remaining division games. Besides, it would be good to get Romo or Henson some playing time. Lets see what the young kids can do. Our D will keep up in the game and if we can muster a running a game, then the QB is really just going to manage the clock and throw some short 3rd down passes anyway. In this short week,, the key is to come out of the game healthy as possible. I think the way our O line has been playing against the pass rush, it would be a good move to start one of the other QB, IF Drew suffered a concussion sunday. JMO.

I'd rather give ourselfs a chance to win this upcoming game. Dallas is going to get some time off after the game but right now if a player can go then they need to be out there especially Bledsoe.

We cant sit Drew. The Denver D will really TEE-OFF on whoever is back there... his fighting chance is getting rid of the ball with veteran accuracy and driving the bus.

Nope not a Romo Fan, don't know enough about him. I do like henson potential though. But that is not the point. The point is, I would rather take one loss then lose Drew for the year. If he is not healthy, don't force him in to try to win this ONE game , Its just not worth it. Concussion take time to heal up, even slight one. If this was a regular week, this is a non issue, but since its only 3 days til game day, I just don't know if it is a smart move to put a older, dinged QB behind a line that isn't playing that well in pass protection. If Drew is good to go, great, i hope he is. But I dont think it is worth the risk of playing him , if he is still suffering from a concussion. We need him down the stretch, this is NOT a must win game.

I'm quite sure had it been a major concussion he'd have never returned to the game and probably wouldnt be playing Thursday, but he stayed in the game yesterday and nobody seems overly concerned with it...
and while it is better to be cautious with concussions, Aikman did play one week after a major major concussion in 1993 (happened in NFC Champ game, he go KO'd early in 2nd half and played the next week vs Buffalo (there werent two weeks between that yr)

I've been disappointed with his play recently, but if Blesdsoe doesn't play, we have no chance.

Are you referring to the undersized Denver defense that is ranked 28th against the pass? If they max protect, Drew will shred them. Perhaps that is why the 'Boys are favored.

I am glad Barber and Julius are on the team. Dallas will need both for a playoff run this year and for years to come. I don't think either has established themselves as greater than the other. Not enough games for either one to demonstrate superiority at this time.

Since when is Denver a good pass rushing team...they rank toward the bottom of the league in sacks. And their top sack artists have 2 sacks!
Is Bledsoe on the injury report ?

How many sacks to the broncos have on the year? I think its 18 on the year. Let them blitz and if we can pick it up bledsoe should have a great day. I'm more worried about the broncos semi illegal run blocking than anything ;p

Bledsoe did look like he got dinged up. The bad thing is that it is a short week. Lets see what happens.

Here's the deal. I'm glad to have both guys. Barber is superior at picking up the blitz and as a reciever. JJ is faster and quicker and is more of a big play back. Barber can get you the tough yards. Both have a tendency to lay the ball on the carpet, not a ton, but sometimes. When both are healthy, JJ should be the starter and their carries should be about 70%-30%. Barber should be used more in the passing game. Whatever gets us a 'W' that's all that matters to me.

Hey, good timing otero1. Your cheerleader was featured in DCW this issue! Chrystal is one of our hottest cheerleaders, if I may say....haha.
BP is no dummy. If Drew is too hurt to play, he will sit. If not, he'll play. I predict an outstanding day for Drew & the entire offense. They've been shackled a bit the past two games, & they don't like it. That's why you saw LA showing his muscles on the one MB TD. They have a bone to pick, & I see them using the Broncos as a wishbone this Thanksgiving Day.
28-13 Cowboys. Yep, you heard it here first folks....hehe.

I'm not so sure...if we couldnt have any success throwing against a Detroit team missing basically half their defense, I doubt we're going to have alot of success throwing against Denver either...
max protecting helps keep your QB upright, but it also makes it easier for defenses to double cover receivers, as ther are fewer of them out running routes

I don't know if it's that cut and dry d. I don't agree that you can just say that we can't throw against Denver because we couldn't throw against Detroit. We've all seen it before. We think we can throw or run aginst this team and then can't and then we think we'll never be able to throw or run against another and do. I guess it all depends on some individual matchups and schemes and what have you. I wouldn't be surprised if Drew throws for 250+, would you? It doesn't matter to me, as long as we win.
