Bill Parcells is 41-44 without Bill Belicheck - making him mortal?

Bill couldnt do it with Bledsoe back then with Pats.
Can he do it NOW in Dallas?

And that my fellow Cowboys fans is why we have faith and watch.

That record is rather misleading, frankly.

Parcells DID take New England to the playoffs in only his second year there. They finished that season on a 7 game win stread, and Bledsoe had a break-out season.

Yeah-Bill B joined his staff after that awful 95 season, but so did Chris Palmer. Palmer had alot to do with helping Bledsoe to clean up his faulty mechanics in that Super Bowl year.

BTW-Bill B can't do squat this year sans Weis and Crenell.

Did he do it with the giants???? YES

Parcells took over a woefull Giants team, took over the worst team in NFL (Drafted Bledsoe #1 overall). And took over a dreadfull Jets team. They too may have been 1-15 year before his hire. He also took over a 5-11 Dallas team in a mess.

What is Bellichecks career record as a HC?

What? Statistics don't lie. 41-44 means BP is a bad coach.

Frankly Nors, I'm surprised after so much time here you still don't understand Cowboy Zone logic.

And Belicheck was a world-beater in Cleveland.

I'm SOOOO sick of hearing this. Who was that guy on PTI? Everytime he subs for Wilbonn I might as well mute the tv.

You're joking, right?

Everyone on ESPN is kind of missing the point-you NEED good personnel all around-regardless of who you are. The main reason why NE's hiccup season this year is that Belichick is now carrying a much heavier load with Weis and Crenell gone. When those 2 guys were there, Bill B entrusted them to bond with their respective players, make the game plans, et al. Now-their new DC(Eric Mangini) is no more than ordinary, and their OC is a committee of people. Overall-Belichick really doesn't have anyone he can trust this year.

Not that Parcells' staff here is any better. Zimmer and DeHaven are awesome. However-Sean Payton isn't all that great, frankly. It seems like Bill P really doesn't have anyone he can rely on here either.

Im not impressed with Payton either, it just seems like he's handcuffed by BP in his play calling. Even Chan Gailey ran a more innovative offense than Sean Payton.

Funny. Why would BP specifically hand him the play-calling reigns then? If someone was handcuffing me like that, and I could stop it, why wouldn't I?

well, bp is an intimidating presence. i bet he has a lot of imput in the offensive game plan all week thus limiting the type of plays payton is allowed to call. whaddaya think?

I think if he approves everything Payton does.

And I think blocking is handcuffing the offense. Not play calling (though that 3rd and 1 still pisses me off).

Tom Landry never made it to a Super Bowl without Dan Reeves. Tom Landry is clearly an overrated bum.

Tom Landry = 5 Super Bowls
Dan Reeves = 8 Super Bowls

Dan Reeves > Tom Landry

(Sounds stupid, don't it.)

How many Super Bowls has he won? To be frank that's all I care about.

Bill has an whole lot of input in the whole team, and you dont' see the Defense struggling

the problem is, the Oline is seriously handcapping our offense, just like RCB, and the pass-rush handcapped the D last year, and which made Zimmer look like an uncreative bafoon then, as what is making Payton look the same this year...

execution is very underrated, and ask Bledsoe what he would like to change, he says their execution...

Parcells is similar to Larry Brown they are willing to take on woeful franchises in desperate need of direction and turn them around. Id rather have guys like that than front runners who only take over loaded teams to boost their winning percentages / egos.

Oh fercryinoutloud--is THAT nonsense starting up again?!?!

That stat is so stupid. For one thing, it factors in FOUR teams that he inherited which were total dogs. You want a better comparison--how did Belichick do in Cleveland, without a team that Parcells had already built for him?

Frankly, that nonsense is just as stupid as saying Belichick can't win without Weis/Crennel.
Or Holmgren couldn't do it without Reid/et al.
Or Gibbs couldn't do it without his group of assistants
Or Walsh couldn't do it without HIS groups of assistants
OR JIMMY JOHNSON COULDN'T DO IT WITHOUT HIS ASSISTANTS

You really want to claim that?

It's an idiotic argument.

Problem with Larry Brown is that he seems to burn every bridge he crosses.
