He's a solid player...but he's not the playmaker he was when he was a rookie...he doesn't have Woodson back there any more...and I think that forces him to play with a little less abandon.

he's had a VERY good year, today however, he didn't have a very good game.
I'm guessing we still look for a FS in FA next year.

Her name is Kelly Rowland, from Destiny's child. J/K
OK, even RW can have a few bad plays and tackles, just that missed toe tackle was at an inopportune time. He still better than just solid.

He's been very, very good this year, IMO...

Over 16 games, you're going to have a few that aren't your best...

even roy is human.

Not ANYWHERE close to being worth the 8th overall pick in the 2002 draft. That pretty much sums up my feeling on Roy Williams.

Today was the first time he didn't make a tackle in the open field this year. He makes plays. If it weren't for Roy then Hall may have won the game with a TD.

I am watching the highlights, and during th fumble pick up by the defense...I saw #31 run way upfield for a good block. he didn't just run up field...but he actually helped get a few more yards. That's leadership and doing what it takes to win.

I think he's really trying to be more of a team player, because he knows they need his help all over the field.

Wouldn't be so quick to predict his demise.

i know the horsecollar rule got him messed up.........

i'm talking about his blown assignments and missed tackles.

he seems to be going for players legs instead of wrapping them up.

i love the guy, i'm just wondering if he has off the field problems.

Roy misses a tackle, so he must have personal problems.

Sigh...

.It's not like he stopped using it. Hell, I've seen more horse collar tackles this year than last. Lol. He's going after people's knees this year for some reason though.

He also stopped Donte Hall or he may have broken free for a TD instead of having Tynes go for a tying FG(which we all know the result of that)

I agree Sarge, though I wonder if he has a slight injury or something...seems he's been going at guys ankles more than usual. I'm used to him going for the legs of big running backs when they're coming head on, but that miss on Gonzales really angered me...Gonzales was stopped dead to catch the ball...he has no speed anymore and looked like a lumbering lineman on that 39 yard run, Roy was straight up on Gonzales who was standing still, why do a belly slide and go for the ankles?? Even if his shoulder's sore and he didn't want to drill him, why not face up and wrap him up? I don't mind a missed tackle, but that was a really weird one.

Two things ticked me off about him today.

First he lagged out big time on that TD pass by not helping Newman on the deep ball and second that miss tackle on Gonzo. I love how he makes big plays and he's a leader on D but sometimes the safe tackle is better than teh big hit.

Roy Williams is usually about the safe tackle. He always has been. Against Gonzalez he tried to hit him low because if you hit him high he'll just bounce off you and get more yards. Roy did the smart thing by going low he just went a bit too low.

...excellent read. Roy has now had another deep pass on the Kennison TD that he forgot to cover.

He was sucked in by Parker to shade towards the middle when Davis was already moving over top of the middle receiver.

Newman chucked Kennison and released him to cover the short man. Kennison was on Roy's side of the field. It looked very similar to Moss' TD in the Washington game.

We have to fix that soon.

Please...Gonzales has no speed left...he's almost 90 years old...he was stopped dead in his tracks with no momentum just to catch the ball...if Roy bounces off him and lets him get more yardage, then we've got a news story.

I don't see that at all. Berry-O is a SS not a FS.
