We beat a very good team today. Just imagine this. If we can improve the OL to open up a better running game and protect Bledsoe better and we add Terell Owens....not even the Colts will beat us.
Things I really hope for is that Steven Peterman is fully recovered from his injuries and can really take over for Rivera which should not be tuff at all. And if Pettiti is not improving any I hope that Tucker has improved nuff to give us a good tackle there.
Add LeCharles Bently and we have a top Center and our OL is lookin very good. See if we can work out something to get T.O. over here and we are talkin #6 next year.

What do you expect BP to say. As soon as T.O. is released he will be a Cowboy. ANd get tampering chargers. Of course he is gonna say he aint interested in T.O. He aint gonna let anyone know what he really thinks.
You could be right and we will not get him but you could also be very wrong. One thing I do know is that NOBODY in the forum knows were BP really stands on the T.O. thing and we wont know till he is either a Cowboy or somewhere else.

Well, this thread started out with promise, until TO was mentioned. I DO agree with a couple of things, though. We did beat a very good team today, and we did it coming from behind. A couple of positive items of note:
The rookie defensive linemen; Spears, Canty, etc. are looking like they are starting to 'get it'. I should have mentioned Ware, because he is being used, or should I say, used up, playing the DE position. I see him at that position by far more than any other. That is called not playing to your player's strength. Although several times big De held his own against an All-Pro who has 75lbs on him, he doesn't belong on the end, fighting off men that size. He is an OLB who should be moved out further, & to both sides of the ball to mix things up. He should be involved in stunts that free him up to use his super-human quickness, not taking up double-teams to free up teammates who still don't get to the QB.
Anyway, our Oline stood up & took numbers. They showed true grit. However, Wolverine has a point about bringing in fresh Olinemen. The upcoming draft has more quality OLTs than in the last decade. We need to take advantage of this, and grab a Marcus McNeil, or Andrew Whitworth to anchor the left side for the next 10 yrs. No telling if Adams comes back. I don't know if Bentley is a FA next yr., but if he is, we should grab him. Another OG in the draft wouldn't hurt my feelings either.

I don't know where Parcells stands on this TO thing, but I know this though; I saw Keyshawn and TO chumming it up on the field after the first Cowboy/Eagle game this year. AND I know Keyshawn is Bill's "boy". So if Key and TO can find common ground, why can't Bill do the same with TO.
It's been well documented that the reason why Key and Bill get along so greatly is because they're on the same wave-length football wise- winning means so much to both of them and that's why they can get past anything else that happens. I'm not so sure TO doesn't fit into that same catagory. Sure we've heard alot about the all-mighty dollar where TO is concerned, but same could be said about Keyshawn. I mean 1 year in Dallas and Key was already talking about MORE money. And really when you come right down to it, it was not the money thing that tore the Eagles and TO apart. People may think that, but it's not. It's those comments after the Super Bowl which started it all. Comments which told me and many others that SOB wants to WIN and won't take any excuses from anybody around him for losing! Sure sounds like a couple of other people we know......
TO + Parcells + Dallas = Perfect Fit! (IMO)

I'm all for upgrading the OL but to hell with TO. he is a major team killer and not worth the trouble.
Yet the guy we have destroyed a Super Bowl WINNING team, not a losing one like TO did. In my eyes TO had reason to complain. People around him didn't give a 110% during the biggest game of the year, yet he did and he wasn't even 100% still coming off the Roy injury he suffered earlier on in the season. On the other hand Keyshawn had absolutly no grounds for complaining and causing troubles other then he wasn't getting the ball "as much" and that Parcells was now back in football coaching and he saw where he would rather be. So I dunno, which could be considered the greater evil to their respective teams at the time the incidents took place? I would have to say Keyshawn was the more disruptive source. He complained when there was really nothing to complain about. His complaints were all selfish-driven. Yet he's here now and most of us couldn't be happier. The past doesn't matter, there's only tomorrow.
I could care less about his money problems. That's between him and management. Cause when the game is on, that guy shows me more fire in his eyes and a zest for the game then most 52 man roster teams show in an entire season. That's only going to multiply after the game having been taken away from him this year. Whoever gets TO next I believe will be one LUCKY team, cause they're going to get a TO that knows what it's like to have the thing he loves most taken away from him.
I'd make a bet right now that TO has his best season of his career next year. How that's not worth a 1 year deal, I don't know.

So give him a 1 year $10-11 million deal with the option to extend that IF both parties are in agreeance. Otherwise both go their separate ways at the end of the season. No problems his first couple of years in San Fran. No problems his first year in Philly.
Plus he knows darn well that this will be his final straw. A team will take a chance on him next year, but if he repeats his behavior there, they'll get rid of him lightning fast to avoid another Philly situation happening. He has to be well behaved for at very least next season.
He'll get a 1, 2 year deal, tops, from any team that signs him. Nobody is going to be nieve enough to sign him long term. He has a lot of proving to do before that happens.
I also see him dropping his agent before the offseason too. Jevon Walker just dropped the same guy I believe. And if TO does, his stock will definatly rise without the "devil" sitting on his shoulder and whispering into his ear any longer.

It wasn't too long ago that Owens was an humble member of the 49ers under the tutelage of Jerry Rice, saying yes sir and yes ma'am to everyone...

So you mean to tell me that IF, Owens played for the Cowboys, showed respect to the coaching staff and his teammates, and never moaned about his paycheck, or criticized Bledsoe, and gave 100% on every play, that you would still root against him? Well maybe I am more forgiving than others. I give guys a chance to redeem themselves because everyone has made a fool of themselves at least once in their lifetime. So tell me, what is your opinion of Keyshawn? I know he wasn't as outlandish as Owens, but there are records of him having shouting matches with Gruden on the Bucs sideline, but in Dallas, he seems like a totally different player. Remember, we have Parcells on the sidelines, and if Owens decided to have one of his hissy fits, he would be on the first bus out of Dallas. All I am saying is, don't knock it until you try it. That is a pretty poor comparison. Drugs and alcohol always yield the same result. They can't learn and improve, but the human mind changes constantly, and I believe that we will see a different Owens next year. It is your right not to want him in Dallas, but my point is that you shouldn't root for him to fail if he does come to Dallas. It would seem logical to hope that all Dallas players succeed instead of hoping someone gets injured just because of your opinion. I do not advocate the "win by any means" policy, but I will root for the Cowboy players to give their all and be team players when they wear the jersey, no matter who is in it. Saying, "I don't like that guy so I won't root for him and I hope he breaks a leg" is pretty immature.

That is a pretty poor comparison. Drugs and alcohol always yield the same result. They can't learn and improve, but the human mind changes constantly, and I believe that we will see a different Owens next year. obviously you didn't get what I was trying to say regarding the drugs and alcohol observation..... you said don't knock it til you try it..... I haven't tried it but I can see what it does to people so I will knock it.... understand....
I wouldn't root for him to fail..... I wouldn't root for him period. I'd wish the TD had gone to JJ or Witten... :D
You don't advocate "win by all means policy yet you root for a guy like TO"...hmmm
Finally.... go back an re-read MY post.... I'm not the one who said I would root for him to break a leg..... I just don't want him on this team.

We would be FIYAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I mean we are already extremely talented and with the edition of a big threat WR, and our o line being strengthened, we would be very good!!!!!!!!!

That is just it...I don't root for TO, I root for the Cowboys. If TO just happens to be on the team, then he will get rooted for as part of a collective unit with the rest of the Cowboys. As to wheter we want TO on the team or not, I guess we will just have to agree to disagree, but I do believe he should get another chance to redeem himself..its not like he was selling drugs to elementary school children or pimpin hoes or something...

People never really change, they just mellow out a little with age.
