Talkin Cowboys just reiterrated what AdamJT said.

There are the 2 known possibilities to make the playoffs (Carolina loss or Washington loss + Cowboys win) and the third "rare possibility" involving a Tampa Bay loss.

However they did not say the Giants had to lose in order for the 3rd option to be assessed.

Who else has to lose if Tampa Bay comes up short next week?

The Giants would have to and then the Giants would have to beat Tampa in SOV and we would have to beat Tampa in SOV.

But what if Wash and Carol win?

But what if Wash and Carol win?

If Washington and Carolina win they would both win their divisions if Tampa and NYG lose. Thus the 5th wild card spot we would be eliminated from based on the NYG having a better division record then us. NYG (if they have a better SOV than Tampa they are currently tied, this all hinges on what happens next weekend) would then beat Tampa in SOV and that would put Tampa in a tiebreaker with us for the 6th spot and currently we have a stronger SOV then them. So if by that time we and NYG have a stronger SOV than Tampa we would be in the playoffs.

We and the Giants need only to TIE the Bucs in strength of victory, since we both would win the next tiebreaker, strength of schedule.
