We all know the Giants got an extra home game this year, right?
And next year, the NFC East plays the NFC South.
And I believe the NYG-NO game is scheduled to be played in NY.
Soooooooo, why not have the Giants play an extra away game next year, in NO?

sounds fair to me but it was'nt about helping the giants. it was about helping the nfl's pocket book. they wanted the n.y. tv money. higher ratings.

Regardless of what was intended, the Giants were given an unfair advantage. They're 8-1 at home, and 2-4 on the road. It just feels like SOMETHING has to be done about this unfair advantage.

Speaking money wise, I think taking away a NY home game and putting it in NO would get really good ratings.
Especially if you put it in the beginning of the season with the Saints just returning to NO.

The media has not made nearly a big enough deal out of it.
If the Giants lose at Oakland and Washington loses to Philadelphia, it will be an even bigger deal as the Giants would have won exactly ONE game away (that being a nail biter in San Francisco) from the Meadowlands this season and still could win the division.

If it had been Dallas with the extra home game you can bet your butt it would be a huge deal. They'd be calling it a fraudulent division crown. They'd be right IMO.
The Giants got a gift they didn't earn. How many teams would like to play an "away" game in their stadium? All of them.

I'm pretty sure they've won 2. 8-1 at home, 2-4 on the road. They beat SF being up 10-6 going into the 4th with CODY FREAKING PICKETT at QB, and they beat the Iggles in OT. And we all know the state of the Iggles nowadays. You're right, though, that the media is just glossing over it. That should be a big story. They're a game up, with a better conference record. And NO is a CONFERENCE team. Come on now - where's the rage? People can get het up over refs making the right call in the DAL-CAR game, but nothing over this? I'm calling The Playmaker.

Hos, until i read your post i was thinking..... cmon let it go already, its over and done with......but your right in that if it had been the cowboys with the xtra home game everyone in the media would be talking about it.
But from an objective standpoint the giants didnt ask for that game to be played in NY, it was given to them....so really cant put the blame or fault on them and therefore punish them in the upcoming year.

So, if they are blameless what then?
Someone must pay.
I vote Tagliabue. He has really screwed the Saints over in more ways than just this one. I would love to see him go down there and do some charity work to attone for his obvious favoritism and money grubbing.

The idea that game was an away game for them is a sham. It certainly didn't benefit New Orleans in any way at all. The only right solution was a neutral site game.

Why not have the Giants play an extra away game next year, in NO?
Because it would be just as unfair to the other NFC South teams for NO to have an extra home game next year as it was for the other NFC East teams for the Giants to have an extra home game this year.
IOW, two wrongs don't make a right.
(Heh, like one wrong does... )

But they have an advantage over the Saints this year playing one extra home game. I know it probably doesn't make a difference in the Saints case, but that would even everything out. It's the same two teams, so it works.

Don't let HeavyHitta find out that you just said that. You'll have him come down on you how the Giants deserve this and that and that we should all just get over it because the Giants are a very good team.

Yeah, as a matter of fact, those other NFC South teams were theoretically at more of an advantage than the Giants were, because the Saints played 16 road games.
That's a great point.
