Big Bill said during the press conference today that some of the off-season pick-ups are meeting expectations and other aren't. Which ones are and aren't?

Henry - better than expected
Glenn - better than expected
Fujita - average and living up to it
Rivera - medium disappointment
Feruson - medium/large disappointment
Bledsoe - Better than expected, we should have gotten him 4 years ago
Price - errrrrrrrr
That Bear running back - errrrrrr

Who else?

People who say Ferguson isnt doing anything dont understand the NT position. You dont hear their name a lot because their job is to occupy space and several blockers. They wont make a lot of tackles in the 3-4, because their job is to free up LBs for the tackles.

Agree with you 100%.

And I think Fujita should be considered a minor dissapointment. Hes played a little worse than average in my opinion

I think the big disappointments are the Jacob Rogers types. I cant think of any players that really are dogging it on the team now like a 'Dat Dude' was last year.

For the record, Ferguson has not disappointed or been a bust. Understand what your looking for from that position and you will see Ferguson delivers.

And yet Glover's name is mentioned more when he is in there. I wouldn't call Ferguson a dissapointment, but he hasn't been more than average.

Rivera, I'm amazingly disappointed in. The one game he's out of the lineup, and our run game breaks loose, against the second best run D in the league? Coincidence? I really am starting to think not. I thought this would be one of the most dominant lines in football, and it has been abysmal, especially run blocking.

I like Ferguson, but the rest I'd basically agree on.

Our worst offseason additions already are gone -- Anthony Thomas, Peerless Price and Jose Cortez.

I posted it before. Ferguson is in a rotation with Glover and Glover is in on passing downs mostly. For not being a full time starter his tackles and sacks rank up with all the best NT's in the league.

3-4 NT and 3-4 DE's are not glory stat positions...

not many nt's make plays. hampton is one of the best has 24 tackles o sacks, pat willimas 41 tackles 1.5 sacks, wilfork 38 t half sack, fergy 23 tackles in limited play and 1 sack. hard to be a play maker in between 2 guards and a center. there job is to plug the middle, not be play makers. just not gonna happen if you think a nt is gonna have alot of big plays or sacks.

the only one not living up to expectations is rivera. and you could argue that it was because of the bad back. he's not the same guy we signed. i didn't have too many expectations from either thomas or price. ferguson has done pretty good. other than to miss the preseason, he's round up nicely and been playing solid all year, on par with my expectations about him

Thats his job. Eat Olinemen. Hold em up and move em out of the way. You pay a Linebacker tomake plays, You pay a nosetackle to not be moved out of the middle. PERIOD.

then he shouldn't be a 3-4 NT.

Yes, fortunately we did not get stuck with any underachievers with huge cap impacts.

Agreed. Numbers are a non-factor when evaluating the NT postion.

I agree with you Nors.

Adam, what are your evaluations of Marco Rivera's play?
