I hate to say it, but I wish we would play the young QBs and see what happens, I mean even if we lose we get 4 picks down and a glimpse of our QBs.

What a travesty that a loaded playoff team like NE picks ahead of us.

Playoff teams pick after non-playoff teams, correct? Didn't we visit this scenario with Buffalo's pick last year?

The number 1 tie breaker is strength of schedule.

Playoff teams pick after non-playoff teams, correct? Didn't we visit this scenario with Buffalo's pick last year? No, the first tie breaker is still the strength of schedule.

Minnesota and St. Louis made the playoffs in 2004. See where they picked in the 2005 Drfat. 18th and 19th.

Playoffs are not a factor unless you reach the SB. St Louis was a playoff team that drafted ahead of Buffalo last year.

Being in the playoffs does NOT give you a lower Draft order.

1st tie breaker is Strenght of Schedule, period.

I couldn't tell you where the heck Minn and St. Louis drafted last year.If the playoff teams picked after the non playoff teams they would pick from 21 through 32.

Last year Minnesota picked 18th and St. Louis picked 19th. Both made the playoffs at 8-8.

Buffalo was 9-7, missed the playoffs, and picked 22 (our pick).

Only the Super Bowl participants are slotted. The rest rely on record and tie breakers.

I could, because I remember those dummies taking Alex Barron and Erasmus James over Spears.

Now I recall. We were pulling for Minnesota to adavance in the playoffs to improve our draft position.

In the end, it wouldn't have mattered. Dallas would have picked Spears even if they had drafted several spots higher with their second 1st rounder.

Interesting that the Eagles had a nightmare of a season and are rewarded with only the 14th pick.

Also weird that there are NO 7-9 teams this year and only one 8-8 team. I guess this extends the streak of the Falcons not having back to back winning seasons in franchise history for 2 more years.

That is unreal. 2 8-8 teams made the playoffs last year.

This year two 10-6 teams could be eliminated as well as three 9-7 teams if Dallas wins. If they lose it is one 10-6 team and four 9-7 teams.

The team with the worst Conference record would pick ahead of the other. If still tied it goes to coin flip.

Barron is getting tossed around by Ellis tonight, and Spears was much higher on everybody's big board than both James and Barron. As little as I've heard from Barron, I've heard less from James.

Makes sense.

I think that's why everyone thinks that playoff teams select after non-playoff teams.

I gotta admit, I'm a little confused myself after reading GBN's as well.

If a playoff team has a worst record then a non-playoff team then yeah, they select ahead of the non-playoff team but if they have the same records the playoff team selects after.

Confused I am :D

18. Cowboys, 9-7, .523

22. Broncos (Via Redskins, 10-6, .539)

30. Broncos, 13-3, .500 (Unless they go to the Super Bowl)

Please let there be a player at 18 that they want so bad they offer both picks to us.

they might be interested if we we're also willing to trade ellis or glover, which we are. they are in need of a D-Lineman.

If a hypothetical situation came up where a player they loved was still on the board like Maroney or Kiwanuka. It's highly unlikely, and we may have to throw a pick their way but...

Cowboys give:
18th pick
LaRoi Glover
Maybe a 3rd?

Cowboys get:
Both Broncos picks
