View Full Version : Parcells decision has to come TODAY
We can't wait around. There aren't a lot of options out there on the head coaching front this year, so we need to strike while the iron is hot. I really hope BP doesnt drag his feet with this, you're either coming back or you aren't. If not then tell us now and let us go find a new coach. There's going to be A LOT of movement today with head coaches and if he leaves, Jerry Jones is going to have to get right in the middle of all of it.
I do agree, Zro. This is a very personal decision for Parcells, and for that I understand why it requires time. At the same time, I agree that this franchise can't be shocked with a retirement a month from now when a lot -- or, even any -- coaching candidates that we might have liked have already landed elsewhere.

The Detroit Pistons handled Larry Brown's situation properly-Brown nearly kept them hanging for a month, but they were able to put out the fire early with Flip Saunders on the market-look how better they are now?
If Tuna keeps Jerry hanging for even 1 week, JJ should make no hesitations from there.

Let us know something now. And if I was Jerry, I'd get with BP and say "what'll it be"? And if he wants more money, I'd tell him to become a male hooker and go "f" himself.
But if he says, he wants to go atleast 1 more year and see where we end up, I'm all for it and welcome him in and let's get ready for the draft.

Tuna is probably coming back. JJ sounded pretty sure of it if you ask me

I really hope Tuna says he iscoming back so we can move on and not have to worry about whether or not a young new coach can do anything here. BP is close to having what he needs, one more offseason he should be set, and our foundation for offense and defense should be set.

I could be wrong, but I think Tuna is already working on next season.

Jerry Jones is not a stupid man.
He keeps a short list of folks to contact at all times.
Since the possible BP retirement is int he air no one would be shocked.
I'd expect a 2 week time off period then BP will be ready to commit to another off-season of building the team.

Parcell shouldn't not be making no decision.
JJ need to fire his *** now so we can get someone in hear who doesn't get socials securities checks.
Parcells cost alot of harder working peoples like me more moneys than they can afford with not beating the spread like he's paid to do.
Parcells must go!!!

What? No leaked stories in week 15 about how Jerry had Jimmy on his private jet? ;)

Time for fans who don't know about Parcells to get a true taste of what he's about...he's about himself.
Parcells could end all the speculation and allow the organization to be focused, by simply saying he'll be back (or not)
But nooooooooooooooooooooo....not Bill...the appeal of the focus being on him is just too great for him to let it go...
He doesn't allow coaches to talk to the media...goes into press conferences and speaks as if he is giving a lecture about football and HIS history every time...and then when the media asks him about his future, he storms off after saying "Why don't you talk about those guys?" (meaning his players). Well Bill because you've made this all about you....again...just as you've done in your three coaching stints before this one.
And as an aside, can you imagine how Parcells would be treating a player who was suggesting he wasn't going to honor the last year of his CONTRACT??!!
Don't forget folks...this is the same guy who didn't take the the team flight back with his players in New England, after the super bowl...this is the same guy who left the Giants in the lurch by announcing his retirement so late that the only option left to the Giants was Ray Handley...and this is also the guy who left the Jets in true soap opera fashion...

Juke, do you remember what month he quit the Giants? I seem to remember it being late- like March or so.

If Parcells walks he should do it immediately. Another thought if he walks after being paid a salary of 15 mil, spending close to 40-50 mil in cap money, dumping the 4/3 for the 3/4 and not completing his agenda then he should be jailed for fraud.

Has it ever occurred to some of you guys that BP TRULY doesn't know what he wants to do as far as retiring goes just yet?
He's still coming to terms with the loss of his brother which I think will be a huge factor in his ultimate decison.
People react in very different ways to the loss of a loved one.
I'd rather BP wait and be sure than to decide 'today' because some Cowboy fans want him to.
OK - carry on.

Parcells doesnt even acknowledge his own children yet the death of his brother is going to sway his decision to keep coaching? I dont buy it.
Besides, the decision shouldnt even be his. I've seen enough to know I dont like the direction of the franchise under Parcells. Jerry just needs to fire him and move on.

I wouldn't be upset if he walked either. I'd like him to come back for one final year but after that, I'd like new blood.
Thats the only way we'll get youth in at QB.

More interested in his business than ours...
I'll give him a week. Then either stay or go...No answer by then and I would rather he just leave.
Juke said he left the Giants once in March, I sure don't want to be put in that situation.

Well, it would sure make for nice big headlines that Jerry loves...lol
And, if he does leave, we'll see who the draft guru really was...Jeff Ireland or BP.

It means that Jerry was feeling him out... Jerry knows that he would have to start looking for HC ASAP... ala flying to Jersey to get BP before season was over.... that mean anything to you?

He's coming back and is probably working on next season already. JJ isn't stupid, he knows what BP is gonna do. BP knows we we're rolling before Big Flo went down and we are very close to putting this thing together. BP isn't going anywhere and JJ knows it...Relax!!!!

relax, he aint going anywhere. too much fun, too much potential on defense. all he needs now is a good offensive line. he's got the owner behind him, the cap dollars and the incentive to make one final run at the super bowl and retire a hero.

I hope BP comes back and finish out his contract. But if he doesn't let the organizaton know what he wants within few weeks, Jerry should fire him and get things going.
I don't want the Cowboys to be held hostage by BP. This team needs alot of work and I don't want any wasted time due to BP's indecision.

Cost of the Dallas Cowboys 2005 record of 9-7... bout thirty million in free agency...
Cost of Parcells returning to Big D in 2006... bout 4.25 million as it currently stands...
Cowboy_love_4ever "male hooker quote"... priceless
