Do you think a team like the Broncos who are one or two players away from a superbowl would trade their number one pick for both these guys. I don't think we could get any higher than a third for Glover and a second for Ellis. Packaged together a team might give up a number one. Denver, Kansas City, maybe even a wanna be conteder like Minnesota.

why do we persist in thinking that other teams are stupid?

No, we won't get much of anything for both of them combined or separately. Why would anybody pay for them when they can have them for free after they get cut?

Not that it could be pulled off.

I definately think we can get something for them because they are tradeable commodities. I'm not sure what we can get for them but I certainly think they would be worth something to the right teams.

Both are way to good to simply cut. Put Ellis opposite a very good speed rusher and you'd have a double digit sack guy in Ellis. Like Carolina has Rucker opposite Peppers and the Giants have Osi U. opposite Strahan, Ellis would be a great guy to have. Personally, I think the right team would easily part with a second for that... at worst a 3rd.

On draft day, I could see up packaging Ellis or Glover with a pick to move up in the first or second round. Certainly, we'll get something.

What about a high second then? They are both signed to reasonable contracts and a team wouldn't have to pay a signing bonus. If a team won't trade for them, Dallas must make it clear that neither player will be cut. We shouldn't give them up for nothing.

Been there as well...also threw in Dat to the Texans....gave me 4!!

Took the lower of the two, traded into top of draft, along with Texans pick...and after importing draft from NCAA...here's my draft!!

1.) Lienart - 2nd
2.) Bush - 4th
3.) AJ Hawk - 18th

But spent ALOT of money signing Bush and Lienart :)

2 hints for ya:

1. always sign draftees to 7 year contracts - they will negotiate down sometimes to 50% of their asking price... you will never have cap problems again...

2. just before the trade deadline, trade your upcoming 1st round pick for the lowest rated teams 1, 2, & 4. then trade your 2, 3, & 4 to the next worst team for their 1, 3, & 4 - - this will normally leave you with the 1st and 2nd picks in the draft without trading any players

just call me the AdamJT13 of Madden... just kidding..if I could only be half the man AdamJT13 is...

Actually, after listening to Bob and Dan and Mickey on the drive home, I am thinking more and more that Ellis could be back. He really isnt costing us alot of money, according to Mickey (around 3 Million next) and he is still productive.

But, in that same conversation I really got the feeling Mr. Glover's days were numbers. Didnt know the dude was gonna make around 7 Million next year, along with Flozell and Allen.

I am impressed that you remembered...

actually, after recording two albums and running a studio for a couple of years, I was able to go back to school and finish my doctorate (theology). I am now a vice president of development and professor of Bible and theology...wrote a book too, if ya can believe that (pm me and I'll send ya a copy...)...I am so busy, I don't get to post (or play guitar for that matter...) much, but I am on here everyday....

besides since quincy is gone, there's really nobody left who really needs defending... ;)

I won't hesitate to trade players in Madden...I usually end up with a much better team when I draft them and train them. But back to real life, if we were a DE and a DT away from winning the superbowl, I'd pull the trigger on both guys together (Glover/Ellis).

1st off, the players in the draft are not guaranteed, while you know what you get with proven players. Especially someone like Kansas City who has an awesome offense, they are a DT and a DE and a WR away from contending for a superbowl. The Chiefs pick 20th, they may not get the player they want there, so why not get a great couple of players for your non-guaranteed 20th pick.
