Backus is overrated. Not sure if you watched him play, but he performed almost as bad as Tucker.

I think the same about Bentley -- but everyone shouts me down.

I want Hester too. But in the 4th or 5th round. He's a good punt returner/
kickoff returner. But a so so corner.

Abraham sure wouldn't hurt my feelings... don't know anything about Backus... Vinatieri is bound to be a FP... book it!
Dude you have waaay too many little guys in your draft...
1st round Marcus McNeil... 2nd round... if he's still there Bobby Carpenter... I don't know about the rest, but isn't Mangold one of the top centers? If so, he's going to be long gone by the 3rd... I've heard that centers are hard to come by in this draft... I could be wrong however...
I'd almost bet that our next FS will be by way of FA... Chavous maybe??
I'm ready for April already... let's GET R DONE

Thats it, thats what I want!I know you like Williams, and so do I. But he won't be there at 18, and plus he's a corner.
No way you draft Hester in the 2nd, he's a bad corner with blazing speed, and if you convert him to WR, it would take years. I don't mind taking him, but only if he slips to 6 and we pick up another 6th somewhere down the line.
I like Managold, but I think we have more pressing issues for the 3rd round.
I think you can get a desperate 2 for Glover or Ellis, if you throw in a 5 for next year with either one of them.

With all of the underclassmen coming out has dropped Williams some. Nothing is set in stone, because there haven't been any workouts or games yet. However, Williams has safety experience and Cb as well. We get the best of both worlds. He can play deep in the 3-4 and Cb in the nickle versus TE like Shockey.
I doubt Hester drops to the 6th. Miami players are notorious for going high and they get great info on where there players may or may not be drafted. For HEster to come out mean he knows something. I don't think 2nd is too high for a guy with his versitility. As for Managold, see Bentley from NO. They come from the same cloth and he is younger.

Everyone has a bad game. I saw Backus underperform evertime I saw him in TV. Detriot fans are labeling him a bust.

And no Right Tackle in site, unless he wants to put Backus there.

Abraham is good but won't play injured, remember how he let the jets down in the playoffs??? We have good DE's and don't need him. I like Canty and Ellis, wish we could move Spears to tackle and go back to 4-3 a little more.

Who is Managold? I have to disagree with Backus. Kevin Barry would be much better. Backus has gotten beat all year. Detroit fans are not happy with his performance.

Man, I was going to Stats Inc to check out Backus's numbers and I got off track and typed in Petitti and Tucker's name.
I hate looking up stats for Cowboys as I would rather go with what I saw on the field.
But dang.....12.5 Sacks for Tucker (didnt even start the entire year) and 13.5 for Petitti.
Man, that has got to be some kind of Record....
I just want to know the meeting and person who inevitably said
"Hey let's start Rob Petitti at Right Tackle this year".
What is Jeff Backus's history at Right Tackle. I always thought he played Left Tackle?

Stats inc says he has only given up 3 Sacks this year even though stats can be very misleading...

He doesn't really give up sacks, but he hasn't really run blocked very well. For where he was drafted, he should be doing much better.

For where he was drafted, he should be doing much better. You mean to tell me you are worried about his run blocking when it was the pass blocking that got us derailed? His run blocking is the least of my worries. Detroit set their Ol up for failure IMO. They went out and got all these Wrs and got pass happy. That can destroy an OLmen mentality. He will be just fine once his OC get more aggresive.

Maybe, how old is this guys compared to Barry. I think Barry is only 26. If Backus is 26-27, then I wouldn't be opposed to it. I really don't want another 30+ lineman though. Also Backus plays LT not RT. I don't know if he would accept RT money in free agency.

Well, the running game wasnt exactly stellar either and it was just a big of a problem as pass protection...well..maybe that is a stretch but it is a problem area as well.
Looks like Barry didnt give up a sack this year, pretty interesting.

I'll have to disagree with the run game. Both of our RBs totalled 1400 plus yards. I just think that our Ts were so focused on not get beat for a sack, it overwhelmed them in the other parts of the game. Im not opposed to Barry either. I just want someone better than Tucker and Pettiti.

I was hoping for 27. As long as he just turned 28. We need a tackle for the next 4 years in FA. Thats probably why I wanted Barry so much.

I'm not fond of it either.... though Mangold in the 3rd wouldn't be too bad for value, but I dont think he'll last that long.. Hester in the second would make me ill!!!!
