Anybody think that Dallas may sign one of the two major UFAs from Seattle? I know the Skins seriously could use Hutchinson and I think he's going to be a hot commodity if the Seahawks don't tag him.

well if Seattle doesn't sign Hutch up,I wouldn't be shocked if he goes to Miami b/c he lives down there and has stated that he would like to play in Miami

Hutch would be one of the few FA's I would give top dollar to.

Interesting...Miami looks to be an up and coming team as well. Impressive turnaround at the end of this season.

I agree. I've always believed that "the line makes the back". With the exception of perhaps Barry Sanders and his sheer athletic ability...it seems no accident that all consistently great running backs have had a top tier line blocking for them.
Remember, Alexander was a backup to Ricky Watters as recently as a couple years ago. He wasn't touted as MVP material coming out of college.

If Cowboys go after Hutchinson, it will cost big bucks which means Larry Allen must be released. Allen (turns 35) will cost us $7.2M; if we cut him we save $3M which can be used towards Hutchinson signing bonus as part of his 5 year contract.
We can't cut Riveria as so many want cause we paid him $9M in signing bonus in 05 & cap hit this year would be awful. May ADAM can tell us what cap hit would be???

I'd much rather the Cowboys go after a Tackle as opposed to giving money to another guard. Especially since Hutch will cost much more than Riveria did.
As for Alexander.....NO!

That is not correct. Alexander was a backup in his rookie year (2000). He was the starter by game 5 in his 2nd year (2001). He was behind Watters in his rookie year yes, but that was because Watters was still a great back -- in fact Watters lead the league in yards from scrimmage that year.

Yeah, who wants a RB that goes for 27 TDs this year and is under 30?
Not me.

By under 30, do you mean 29 by next season. C'mon man. He's so great his own team gave him the go ahead to become a free agent this year with NO future starter on the roster. The Cowboys have potentially two future starters and you want to send them to the bench for a guy that has a few more good years in him. Right lets give Alexander $15 million signing bonus. Thats what this team needs.

Unless Alexander and Hutchinson are both 32 or older I do not see Parcells havin any interest in them.

Alexander is a *****! Concussion from that candy*** hit 1 minute into the game. Hell aikman played through concussions and won superbowls!
No thanks dont want that candy***. Hutch on the other hand I wouldnt mind.

ditto, one of the top G's in the game. LA needs to retire anyway.
The only problem is...we'll still need a C, Bentley, who's going to cost a lot also. That would be the beginning of a younger, dominating OL though....
Flo, Hutch, Bentley, Rivera/Gurode, Pettiti, probably still throw in a first day draft pick on a OL also.
you guys are retarded. Alexander has been the best runningback in the league the last 2 seasons and omg. 27 tds? Only reason i would say NOTHANKS is because his contract is going to be absolutely huge.

Thank you medical expert. It is obvious that you do not understand the risks of playing with a concussion. At this point in the NFL the team doctors can keep a player from going back into the game if he has a concussion. Back when Aikman was playing there wasn't nearly as much known bout concussions as there is today. So before you go calling Alexander a wuss for not playing with a concussion, maybe you should understand a little more about concussions.

And what quality tackles are out there for free agency? Backus?
Nah, I would rather get my tackle this year in, say, round three of the draft.
And you gotta make a play for Bentley somehow.

Clearly you may have suffered 1 too many concussions. Concussions cause BRAIN DAMAGE. Playing with a concussion puts the player at a far greater risk of more brain damage.

The Skins may try to go after Hutchinson, but I feel his asking price will be too high. He would be a great pickup as he is the best LG in the league.

And picked up with 1 of the 2 1st round draft picks Jerry used for the Galloway deal.

Well I didnt say go grab one in free agency. I just said I rather go after a tackle. Thats a broad statement. But what I was really saying is signing another guard to a big money deal is counter productive. And really doesnt help the team much with LA and Rivera already there. Guard was NOT the problem on the line this year.

they will not let hutch get away and alexander will not get any huge offers. not because he is'nt deserving, he is the all time simgle season scoring leader and has been in the top 2 rushinmg back to back years but rb's are just not that hot of a commodity in f.a., you could have had edge cheap last year and no one wanted him. too many decent ones coming out of college and he is not 25 anymore.

Uhh, yeah...he was a first round pick and pretty much touted as a sure thing and he's been the starter for at least five seasons.

If Alexander becomes a free agent it will only because Seattle either doesn't think he is worth the cap hit, or don't have the cap room to sign him. They would not be letting him go otherwise.

Next year may be the last for both our starters.

With what?
they may have cap problems -- but that only means that they can't spend IF they care about being cap healthy 2-3 years down the road. If they are taking a "win now, screw the future" stance, then they can make several big time FAs happen.

OK, Alexander's a candy *** cause he got knocked out of one game. Nevermind the fact that the guy you salute on your sig hasn't finished a full season yet.
Yeah we don't need this year's MVP cause he's a candy ***.

sounds like he will be a skin then. They'll throw a hundred million at him and trade 9 draft picks for him and we'll sit here and talk about how they're going to be in cap hell the next 20 years. Then we'll still sit here and wonder why they're not going broke and can even fill their roster.
